Hello! I’m Alexa and I have been professionally taking care of animals for over 3 years. I currently work as a vet assistant, working one on one with doctors and handling the medical part of animal care, but previously I had been working as a very large clinic's kennel manager and was also cross trained as a vet tech. As a kennel manager I was in charge of running the boarding kennels which housed over a hundred dogs at a time and ensured that everyone had the upmost quality of care. Animal care is something that I am very passionate about and is a long term career goal for me! I am currently pursuing a Biology degree at UIC, with hopes of either becoming a veterinarian or an even bigger goal of one day running my own shelter. I am knowledgable in what I do, and am always willing to offer my own insight on pet care. I have experience working with dogs of all sizes, breeds, ages, and temperaments, and am something of a cat whisperer 🤗 (I have 2 fur babies of my own). I also have experience with other small animals. I can deliver medication (injectable, topical, or oral) and give nail trims. Currently as a student and employee, I can offer services like daycare, house sitting, dog walking, and drop ins, but my availability may be limited. I can’t wait to meet your fur baby! :)
