Lover of All Pups!

Pet care experience

I have been an adamant dog lover for as long as I could remember! I've always admired just how much a sweet pup can add to any family and I strive to show that through my care. I've been caring for pets on a more professional basis for about 4 years now and have had the pleasure of working with families and dogs of all shapes and sizes: small, large, senior, puppies, etc.! Whenever I take on any level of dog care duties I am always sure to treat each pup with lots of love and care! I have extensive experience in dog boarding, dog sitting, personal doggy daycare, and of course lots of dog walks.

Alexa did a tremendous job taking care of our two pups. There’s some apprehension around having someone take care of the dogs but we felt very much as ease with Alexa. From our first interaction she was a top-notch professional. She is friendly, communicative, and asks all the right questions. When we were away she sent regular pics of the dogs and gave us updates on how they were doing. She was genuinely warm and affectionate with the dogs so really felt like they were in good hands. On top of all that she left us a nice note at the house for when we returned. She is truly a professional and we will definitely reach out to her again.

Thanks Alexa for taking such good care of Stella. We could tell from your marvelous pictures that she felt at ease with you, even on her first day. You gave us peace of mind so we could enjoy our outing. We are profoundly grateful and look forward to doing it again soon.

Safety, trust & environment

When boarding any pet, I ensure that I keep a clean and safe environment to ensure every pet's safety. I strive to work with pet owners to model a safe, welcoming, and playful environment that is as close to home as possible. When caring for pets in a clients home, I aim to follow regular home routines in order to keep the pets day to day as familiar as possible while their families are away.

Information Alexa L. would like to know about your pet

When taking on a new pet, I find it important to discuss with the pet parent what are their specific wishes for the stay. Starter questions include: - How many walks does your pet usually take and for how long? - What is the typical meal schedule you have set for your pet? - Is your pet on any type of medication I should be aware of? - Are there any food restrictions or allergies that I should be aware of? - How does your pup get along with other dogs? And of course, other ways to make this experience as best as possible for both the owner and the pup!

A typical day

I am fortunate to have both the comfort of my home as well as the beautiful and green J. Hood Wright Park to entertain any pup I care for! I am certainly a fan of fetch to get a pup's energy going, long walks around the neighborhood, and of course, lots of rubs and cuddles to wind down the day! The J. Hood Park Dog Run is a short walk from where I reside so there are definitely lots of other pups to socialize with around the neighborhood if you/your pup are interested!

Availability

Thanks to my current hybrid work set-up, I now have more freedom to take on even more pet care. I currently work remotely from home 3 days a week (Mondays, Thursdays, & Fridays) and work in office (located in midtown Manhattan) the remaining two days of the work week. For pups who need full-time supervision, I am often able to adjust my in-office days on a case-to-case basis and am able to work from home as needed which is something I am happy to explore further if a stay were to call for it!
