I graduated with a degree in animal behavior, and currently work at the Fort Worth Zoo. I've been dog sitting for various families since high school, and completed an internship at the SPCA of Erie County (Buffalo, NY) working on behavioral modification with dogs. I currently only have cats and need more dogs in my life, and figured this was a good way to accomplish that, as well as make a little extra cash. I work from 7:30-4:30 and am extremely limited in terms of being able to walk a dog during the day. I am also comfortable with taking care of any other pets that you have. I am happy to answer any questions you have for me, and hope I'm the right pet sitter for you!

I truly cannot say enough great things about Alexa. She watched my two dogs for 11 days (one that had recently had surgery) and everything that could have gone wrong did - and she handled it so wonderfully I couldn’t be more thankful. One of my dogs takes a while to warm up and Alexa truly took the time to get close with her. Our power went out & water heater broke & Alexa stayed and cared for the dogs the whole time without a complaint. She’s very pleasant, on time, and communicates well. 10/10 recommend !!
Alexa was a great petsitter for our cat Ripley! He is diabetic and requires insulin twice a day and had just gotten a tooth pulled before I had to leave, so she was very attentive with his medication and the antibiotics he had to be on while I was gone. She even vacuumed the floors and cleaned the kitchen before I got home. Will definitely book again!

Alexa was amazing! She took care of our 2 dogs, 1 cat and 5 chickens! Everything was in perfect order when we arrived home and everyone was happy. She was at our home on time and when she said she would be. I had complete peace of mind knowing that she’s a zoo keeper and taking care of animals is what she does for a living. I would absolutely use her again!

Safety and a positive environment for your pets is very important to me. As someone who works with animals on a daily basis, I'm able to pretty quick identify issues and deal with potential problems quickly and with as little disturbance to your pets. As far as environment, I'm a very relaxed person who can provide your pets all the attention they need.
Information Alexa H. would like to know about your pet
Before taking care of a dog, I like to know what type of care the dog used to. Does he/she prefer to play in their own yard, or go on long walks, to provide a couple of examples. I am more than happy to accommodate whatever makes your dog the happiest. I have absolutely no breed preferences; I am fine with taking care of anything from a teacup Yorkie to a Pitbull to a St. Bernard or Great Dane.
A typical day
I love going for walks along the Trinity River, if that is somewhat near where you live. If not, I'd be fine with walking wherever your dog takes me, whether that's just down the street or around several blocks. I would also be willing to take him/her out on a walk and then hanging out in the house with them so that aren't lonely all evening. When it comes down to it, I am very much willing to work with any schedule (how long I'm there, what you need me to do, etc) that you would like. I love playing with dogs, whether that's playing fetch or tugging on a rope toy. Being someone with animal experience, I know what behavioral patterns to look at when playing and know how to respond and make it a great time for your dog.

Availability
I work full time from Tuesday to Saturday, meaning I am off on Sundays and Mondays. I work from 7:30 to 4:30, and am extremely limited I my ability to do drop ins or walks during that time.
