My friends and family jokingly call me the dog whisperer because every dog that I meet loves me. I've always loved dogs and have had multiple dogs growing up with my family. Growing up with dogs, I've taken them to the bathroom, walks, to the vet, played with them, and anything else you can think of. I've also petsitted neighbors, extended family's, and friend's dogs a good number of times. My largest experience is with smaller dogs. My family currently has a 13 year old Havanese, Chili, who was the dog I spent time with from late childhood onward. I'm now graduated from college and living with roommates, so I no longer live with him as he is in my family home. However, growing up, I was often the one that took care of Chili, and I still am when I visit home. I would play with him and take him to the bathroom and walks every day. I took him to the vet with my mom and on my own. I've helped him out when he's been sick. I've fed him and know all about what dogs can and cannot eat. I would eventually like another dog, but right now that's not a possibility with where I am living, and I also do not want to get another pet while Chili is around. It is important to know that I have a full time job in Old Town Alexandria. I can easily check on and walk dogs in that area during lunchtime (11-2), and my lunch hour is flexible so I can accommodate. However, outside of that area doggie care hours would be before or after the 9-5 workday. Also, I am more than happy to care for and spend a bunch of time with pet(s) overnight or during the weekend.
