Hi! My name is Alexa and I have been raising dogs personally for about 10 years. I used to raise service animals to become seeing-eye dogs for Guide dogs for the blind. I have had dogs my entire life, and currently have my own female yellow lab (9 months old, named Navy). I am a current medical student (foot and ankle surgery) at Des Moines University and have odd hours that are pretty flexible when it comes to being available for your pups. Navy and I would love to help you take care of your pup(s) during the day! My scheduling might be slight different each week, but I am pretty flexible to your needs. I love working with puppies and dogs of all sizes! I had a Bernese mountain dog I helped raise with my family growing up so I am no stranger to large dogs. Alexa, by the age of 24, has already raised 2 fantastic dogs. One, Astra, in college upon her foundation of a service-pet training program. Astra is a sweet, kind, and obedient dog who passed her service-training exams and is now a full time service dog for a sweet owner who needs her. Her other, and current dog, Navi, is a kind and well-tempered Yellow Lab. Growing up with many dogs in our family, I can say that Alexa is amazing when it comes to caring for hers and other’s animals. She has a natural grace and instinct when around dogs, and many other animals. She will be fantastic at watching your dog and making sure it is taken care of!
I would highly recommend Alexa to anyone who needs a dog sitter. She was my sitter for my very large German Shepherd, Cobe, over a year ago. Cobe absolutely loved Alexa, he knew when he saw her car pull up that it meant she was visiting and he would run around like crazy with excitement. She was very careful with his allergies and always sent me photos and updates of him when I was away, which was a nice way for me to check on my fur baby. She is one of the only people I would trust with him because I know she will take great care of him.
Alexa has taken care of my Aussie on numerous occasions. She takes great pride in caring for not only her dog, but others as well. I would recommend to anyone!
Alexa is an incredible caregiver to dogs and humans! She is so compassionate, responsible, intuitive, and someone I would trust wholeheartedly. She has always been an incredible dog owner and has worked with all ages, from puppies to senior dogs. She is a great communicator and is responsive to the needs of the owners and the dogs!
