Work from home all day most days
Pet care experience
I'm a responsible adult with a flexible job which allows me to work from home on the computer. This means I can be there for your pet all day on most days (aside from basic things like grocery shopping or going to dinner) with no need to worry about loneliness (me or your pet). I have a calm personality, and pets seem to like me. I'll hang out with your pet and make sure they're well cared for. My house had dogs growing up, and I've enjoyed having roommates with dogs since then. The most was 2 Great Danes and a Labrador at once. Big and small dogs are equally welcome. The big ones can't sit on my lap, but are welcome to curl up beside. Rover's options on services can be easy to overlook sometimes so I want to be clear: I offer housesitting, where I stay at your home with your pet during the day and overnight. I do not offer drop-by walking or boarding. Thanks!

Fantastic. Fully recommend Alex - he was responsibility and reliable, took care of my dogs exactly as I asked. He was able to say what he could and couldn’t do and stayed in touch throughout his stay. Had him as a house sitter and couldn’t even tell he had been in my house. Will call him next time I need help!
Alex was great from beginning to end. This was our first experience with Rover and he made us feel extremely comfortable with the whole process. While we were away he sent us multiple updates a day, with pictures. He stayed in our home and left it clean and tidy. Anytime I would send a message, Alex would respond quickly. It was clear when we got home that our dog Kai felt comfortable with him, and loved spending the long weekend with him. I would definitely use Alex again and would recommend him to anyone looking for a dog sitter.
Alex always takes great care of our doggies when he dogsits for us, but this time really saved the day by extending his stay when our flight home got canceled not once but twice! We so appreciate the flexibility and great communication and of course not having to worry about the pups or our house while we are away. Thanks Alex for helping to make our travel snafu less stressful!

This depends a lot on the home, but I'm very mindful of things like locking doors, closing gates, and generally being aware of where the pets are and if they're (hopefully not) getting into trouble.
Information Alex V. would like to know about your pet
Since I'll be working from home, I'll have a few questions about your home and pets: Do you have reliable internet service? Is it reasonably quiet during the day? I realize there is no 'mute' button for dogs, but if they frequently bark at minor things (e.g. people passing by the home), that's not conducive to working from home and would not be a good match. What's the parking situation? Downtown locations without parking might be possible, but please let me know ahead of time. Are there any medications that need to be administered? I'm happy to add medication to food or put pills in pill pockets, but nothing where I need force them (e.g. put my fingers in the pet's mouth).
A typical day
I work from home, so I can make sure the pets get out several times per day. Plus some playtime in the evening, and maybe some exploring around the neighborhood.

Availability
I usually take dogs for short walks in the morning and mid-day. Usually a longer walk in the evening, and another quick bathroom break walk right before bed. I'm often home all day, but do leave sometimes (up to the times your your pet profile says it can be left alone) for basic stuff like picking up food, groceries, or meeting a friend for a meal. I can adjust my schedule some, but if your dog can't adjust some to my schedule (usually a bit later), or can't sleep through the night, it's not a good match. Long stays are no problem, and I prefer to do stays of at least a few days.
