“Dogs and angels are not very far apart.” - Charles Bukowski We are a responsible, animal loving family who would be thrilled to care for your cherished pets. My college-age daughters and I have long felt a calling to work with animals. I grew up on a farm where I began caring for all kinds of pets and livestock starting at age 9. By 10 or 11 I was learning how to train animals - horses especially and dogs, too. During their youth, my daughters so enjoyed the warmth and companionship experienced living with our pets that they convinced the family to volunteer at local animal shelters and pass that love forward to abandoned animals and prospective adoptive families in the community. We have been dog sitting part time in our home for friends and family for many years, and we have decided the time is now to make it official and focus more of our energy on this rewarding area of our lives. Our future plans include a working farm and dog kennel in a nearby county. This is our next step in realizing that goal. UPDATE: we have found our farm! 40 acres is gorgeous Sandy Ridge, NC! My other job is in photography and I work from home. Pet care is a vocation for us, not just a passive way to earn a few extra dollars. On occasion when I do have to leave the house, the duration is generally limited to two hours or under. Visiting pups will enjoy exclusive use of a safe, secure, and luxurious 300 square foot living area. There’s room to play, comfy beds to lounge on, a large screen tv with dog friendly programming, and floor to ceiling windows overlooking our wooded backyard teeming with wildlife. A large deck is available for outdoor play during nice weather. Bathroom break walks every 2 – 4 hours, a longer evening walk for overnight guests (weather permitting) Dogs must be well socialized with people, other dogs, and cats. We may require a meet and greet prior to accepting a reservation.
