Beagle Owner, So Your Doggo Will Be Easy!
Pet care experience
Having grown up with dogs it was only a matter of time before getting Jack, our 5 year old Beagle. He loves all dogs and loves a good long walk followed by a good long sleep! We’d love another dog but know that the time isn’t right, so love to look after other people’s dogs. And Jack loves the company too! We walk along the canal every day and give Jack a good couple of walks, and end up down the pub some evenings and weekends along the way! Would be happy to have a dog allowed off the lead or one that has to stay on the lead - we’re used to being strict with Jack - being a Beagle has its idiosyncrasies! We have a large enclosed garden that’s perfect for zoomies and 7 o’clock sillies, and the dogs that stay with us would sleep in our kitchen with Jack. We have a young cat called Colin, one of the most chilled cats you’d ever meet, and he’s self sufficient in looking after himself around other dogs.
Reviews
Alex looked after our 5 month old puppy overnight. It was the first time we had left him with anyone but I knew that he was going to be well looked after . He had a great time with Jack, they seemed to get on really well. Alex kept me updated and sent pictures. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him. Definitely hoping they will have Reggie again
Alex was great with our dog Dougie. Alex has looked after our dog a couple of times and both times he has been really accommodating and communicated well.
We arranged to leave our pups with Alex at pretty short notice, and this being our first experience of using doggy daycare we were a bit apprehensive. We didn't need to be - Alex suggested a meet and greet so our dogs could get to know his Beagle Jack, and put us at ease straight away. On the day he looked after our pair, he gave us updates during the day and sent photos of them enjoying themselves. They came home suitably tired and very relaxed - just what we wanted! We will definitely be sending our two to Alex again and would highly recommend him to other nervous furparents!
Alex, Great job looking after Alfie from start to finish.

Large enclosed garden that’s escape proof, and your doggo would sleep in the kitchen with Jack, either in their own crate or on their own bed. Jack doesn’t resource guard and is used to having friends stay over so they won’t be bothered by him, if anything they’ll be kept company by him.

Information Alex S. would like to know about your pet
It’s important that Jack gets on with the dog staying with us, as well as them having some manners (no aggressiveness around food, no stealing food off the kitchen worktops!). We’re keen to meet prospective dogs before they stay with us, as it’s important for both the guest dog and our household that it’s a good fit. Jack is an emotionally intelligent, soft and submissive dog so it’s important that the dog staying with us doesn’t take advantage of that. He does love a good play and ruck & tumble, but knows that no means no, and we give him strict boundaries when it comes to food, not being allowed on the sofa or bed, and no barking!
A typical day
In the mornings we can either take the dogs on a walk with Jack along the canal, or if they need extra exercise I had put them on my bungee lead and take them for a run. Follow this with some breakfast and then they can chill in the garden or, if it’s raining, curl up on their bed whilst I work from home. In the late afternoon we can go out for our second walk, this time the other way down the canal, and finish up with dinner and chilling in the living room. Bedtime is wee wee time, then settled down whilst listening to classic fm, and we can leave a night light on for those dogs who are a little more worried.

Availability
We base a lot of our social life around having a dog - he comes with us on holiday, or we never leave him more than a few hours. Morning walks & tea time walks. Weekends spent exploring and then curling up on the sofa. Jack on his bed of course!
