My name is Alex and I promise I'll be your pet’s favorite pal! I have grown up with animals, have experience working at the VBSPCA as an adoption counselor where I handled several cats & dogs on a daily basis, & I'm currently a manager at Norfolk's new Dogtown. I am working towards achieving my dream of opening my own animal sanctuary! I have a flexible schedule and live walking distance from Ghent Dog Park. I can run with your dog & they can play with love-able pets my pup Julep & kitten Marvin (Gaye). I understand how hard it is to be away from your pet & will do whatever I can to make it easier for you both. I like to send pics to keep you posted! In addition to my services I also offer products from my business including: dog & cat toys, beds, accessories, and alternative medicine essential oil blends. We have all natural blends for dog anxiety, itchy skin, flea & tick repellant, dog deodorizer, and ear cleanser/ear infection treatment.

Alex was very understanding when I had to reschedule our meet and greet last minute due to a work schedule conflict. She was so sweet to my dogs and kept me posted, including pictures and updates. I felt very comfortable having my dogs in her care and strongly recommend her to anyone who needs a pet sitter!
Alex is awesome! She was very responsive from the moment I first inquired if she could watch our 13 year old cat over Thanksgiving. Within minutes she replied and even set up a meet and greet that same day! Casey is usually very shy and hides around strangers, but he came right out and took to Alex immediately! I felt very comfortable and confident he would be in the best of care while we were away. Alex sent multiple photos and progress reports every time she visited Casey. She is so professional and attentive! I can’t wait to have her watch Casey again in just a few weeks! As a sidenote, when we arrived home, our mail was neatly stacked on the table and Alex had even left us a thank you note! AND she left the cutest handmade gifts for Casey and our dog Cooper (who she had met but wasn’t watching this trip). I can’t recommend Alex enough! She is a rare gem of a pet sitter!

No breed restrictions we are open to all! I just hope you feel comfortable being open & honest with me & are forthcoming with any questions or concerns you may have so everyone can have the best possible experience! Both of my pets are very friendly & I understand some dogs can feel anxious in a new environment. I am experienced in these transitions & can ease them in with a dog introduction & even a cat introduction. The safety and well-being of all of our pets is my number one priority.
A typical day
I live right near Colley Avenue so we have the luxury of city views or quiet walks by the water. We can also enjoy some socialization time with all of our friends at the dog park or maybe just some one-on-one time or small group at home. The pets have taken over the apartment so it's stocked full of toys, healthy treats, comfy beds, & even a fun tunnel to run through! Mental stimulation is just as important as physical exercise so we do lots of supervised puzzle toys & games like searching for hidden treats around the apartment or even hide & seek! We can also work on tricks & training. Every stay with me can be tailored to fit you & your dog's needs!
