My passion for animals began at a young age: I had walked and pet-sat for neighbours, relatives and friends and took care of a variety of animals. With this experience, I went on to work in retail as a pet caregiver in a pet store in the Waterloo region as well as managed the store as an associate. Tasks included feeding, maintaining the animal habitats of the fish and reptiles, cleaning cages and interacting and encouraging pet adoption for the rescue cats. With more than 3 years of Rover experience, I can confirm that people care about the wellbeing of their pet and know that I can deliver the services necessary to meet those needs. If you need me to track their grooming and vet visits, I'm there for you to take them to those visits as well. Canadian winters can be too cold and maybe you just don't want to go out in -10C. Guess what?! I can do that job for you instead ! :) My own home boarding and day care services are currently unavailable. With that being said, I know that sometimes, the setting can play an important role in the day to day mental health of your pet. Where the usual day to day is not as "usual" as we once expected it to be, I understand that there are some things that may come up last minute, and always do my best to accommodate. Together, a Meet & Greet will be scheduled for first visit to get to know your pet, and for an opportunity to see where cleaning supplies, food and water and to learn/be consistent with any training that you may be doing with your pet. At this time, if you have any additional requests (such as training, medical concerns, things that I should be aware of) for the upcoming appointments, I like to know and accommodate to them. Pet First Aid trained through St. John's Ambulance - additionally, I recommend that pet owners participate in this type of training for the knowledge in case of an emergency situation at home. Barrie Kennel Club of Canada - I am a member of the Barrie Kennel Club of Canada where I support in pet related events with breeders, trainers and those involved in the dog community in the Simcoe region. Your time is important to me. Once requested, I do my best to accommodate to your schedule so that you have peace of mind. If you need regular walks or visits, I will make sure that is a part of my routine. When there is a time frame, I make sure to include the time associated with the service is to completely attend to your pet. We can do early morning, mid-day or evening walks/drop-in visits and I will adjust the scheduling as needed. Going on a vacation but want your pet to stay home? Great, I can provide house sitting as needed. I work around my day time job as well as the hours that your pet can be on their own to make it a seamless experience. Pets are fed, dogs are walked, home is kept clean, I can also take care of any ad hoc tasks like garbage and watering the plants. Working from home but your pet has high energy? Let me take the pooch on a walk while you are on that important Webex meeting. Pup will be calm once returned so that you can feel like you are ready for a relaxing evening together. I ensure that leashes and the correct safety protocols are taken in regards to weather, leash manners and traffic. The pet needs to be fed and your not able to make it home on time? I will drop by the house and make sure that they have food and water. And give them a washroom break if needed. Its also time to give them the mental stimulation prior to me leaving so that they are not feeling anxious about the encounter through toys and interaction.
