K9 trainer, trusted, experienced.

Pet care experience

I’ve been working with dogs for over 21 years. I own Capital State K9 Training, LLC, and have just partnered with my mentor and old boss’ company Adams Police K9, LLC. We mainly train in private K9 contracting and law enforcement K9 training, and all the different facets included in that. We’ve also started another training opportunity that is more civilian-friendly and oriented, called Capital State K9 Training. If you are having problems with your pup, no matter how big or small the problem, feel free to bring him our way. There’s not much we can’t correct between our combined 38 years of experience. If you’d like help and a new client discount, feel free to message me for the email address. Before you can do anything with your COMPANION dog, obedience MUST come first. Without that, you won’t get anywhere. I’ve spent most of my life around these animals, am kind, patient, understanding, and at my happiest when I am with them. I understand what they need, I use my body language instead of my emotions and temper when I am working with an individual. Seeing a happy and satisfied owner with a well-adjusted dog brings me great joy. My schedule is currently pretty flexible at the moment, so I should be easy to coordinate dates with you for at least the near future. One last thing...even though I spend most of my time with dogs, I absolutely adore kitties. So send them my way! Thanks for your time! Alex

Alex is seriously the best! My cat suffers from separation anxiety, and I hired Alex to watch him for four days while I was out of town. Alex gave him to much love and attention I don't even think my cat realized I was gone! Alex truly exceeded our expectations for a pet sitter. She spent hours a day snuggling with Oatmeal and sent us pictures and videos of him throughout the day. Not only was Oatmeal well-loved under Alex's care, but she went the extra mile and clipped his toe-nails (which is a feat in and of itself) and brushed out some clumps he had in his hair. If that weren't enough, Alex vacuumed and Swiffered our whole apartment so that my husband and I would come home to a clean house. Alex is so much more than a pet-sitter; she feels like a friend and a member of the family. We will certainly be hiring her again, and would recommend her services to anyone. She is simply the best!

To be a person you would trust with your pet, that person ought to truly love animals and care about their well-being. When Alex was about 7 years old, she adopted her first dog. As her parents were driving home with the little mixed lab, Alex told her mother it was the happiest day of her life. But, as the dog began to whimper in his crate, Alex could hardly bear the animal’s suffering and asked if they should take the new dog back to its mother! (Reassured that the dog would be ok when they got him home, Alex went on to love and care for Charley Barry for the next 15 years.) As a young equestrienne, Alex learned to take care of horses as she learned to train them. She has a innate ability to combine affection with discipline. Her favorite breed of dogs has long been the Doberman Pinscher. She has owned and trained a number of Dobermans. With Alex, they become loyal, well-behaved and happy dogs. As she is equally fond of cats, she somehow manages to get cats and dogs to be comfortable together. Alex cares about animals, understands animals and loves them. We all have a knack for one thing or another ... with Alex, it’s caring for and training animals. She has proved that time and time again!
