When I was a child, I begged and begged for a dog, my mom wanted one, too...my dad was less than enthusiastic about the idea. When they surprised me by bringing home that eight week old fluff ball known as a wheaten terrier, I couldn't contain myself. She and I were fast friends. I had a hand in training her, walking her, cleaning up after her, and taking care of her as her health declined. She gave me the skills I have utilized in taking care of friends and neighbors ever since. I have a really good rapport with dogs, I am able to read their emotional state clearly and model how I act toward them accordingly. Every dog has a different personality and must be treated as the individual he or she is.
