Long-time owner, dog lover, runner

Pet care experience

I'm a current MIT student living in Brighton Center. I grew up in Texas with many dogs through my childhood, and have experience with small terrier-sized pups and larger mixes. My family adopted several mutts from the local animal shelter that we also volunteered with each month. More than one of my childhood dogs went blind and deaf in old age – over time I've learned the best ways to help them live with such conditions. Many of my dogs had most of their weight in hair, so I also have experience with knots, shedding, and bug-checking. Despite being a student, I can absolutely devote all my listed free time to the dogs I'll be looking after. I know basic doggie first aid and can administer medication as necessary, and I'll always put an owner's preferred routines above my own. I'm looking forward to keeping your dog happy when you're away!

Alex was super flexible and came to our rescue last minute before we had to head out of town at 6am the next day! He was on time, flexible, and took photos of our pup to send to us :) Definitely reaching out to him next time I’m leaving town! Thanks Alex!

Alex was a great sitter! He took good care of our Husky Rocket for a weekend - sending photos and updates and taking Rocket to the dog park! He’s also responsive and flexible with timing. Would book Alex again in the future.

Alex was a great sitter for Yoshi! He took him out for walks and to the dog park and sent us photo updates. We felt very comfortable and re-assured knowing Yoshi was in good care. Yoshi was a very happy puppy!

Information Alex C. would like to know about your pet

I welcome all types of dogs, and would like to know the following things before boarding: > Any specific allergies? > Do they have anxiety from noises, separation, or encountering lots of people? (e.g. leash-reactiveness) > Preferences for diet and playtime? > Medication or special care requirements?

A typical day

I am happy to walk, run, or even bike with dogs so we can get some exercise around Boston. I personally love the esplanade along the river as well as the Back Bay Fens, but also would love to try out owners' suggestions. I can stay with pups in a calm, quiet environment or introduce them to my housemates for more socializing.
