Growing up on a farm in a rural village, I made quick friends with all the animals. The dogs followed me everywhere I went! Having come to the city later, during my teenage years, I often dog sat for family friends. As an adult, I frequently help neighbors with grooming, walking and checking in on their dogs. I would say that caring for dogs is second nature to me. I have cared for lots of other animals too. Over the years, I have taken care of all sorts of fish, parrots, hamsters, guinea pigs, cats and more. Whether you're putting in long days at the office, planning a late night out, heading away for the weekend, or booking a trip to warmer climates, when I stay with your dog, there will be no worries and you will be able to have a care-free good time. Your dog will enjoy frequent bathroom breaks and nice long walks, just like pups love! Walking schedules vary, depending on the dog of course. With most dogs, I start the day with a nice hour long walk in the morning after breakfast, then another walk after lunch (for about 30-40 minutes), and another hour long walk after dinner, with shorter bathroom break walks in between. ***If there are particular areas in your neighborhood that you would like me to avoid when walking your dog, please be sure to bring this up when we discuss specifics.*** PLEASE NOTE that training is NOT automatically included. If your dog is naughty, please make sure we discuss training during our meet & greet. I have a very strict screening process to guarantee everyone's safety and comfort. IMPORTANT REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPS: - Honesty and transparency is required - any dog over 7 months old must be spayed or neutered - must have a proper fitting harness or collar with up-to-date tags - must be vaccinated for the following: Rabies, Distemper, Parvovirus and Hepatitis - must be properly groomed (bath & nails) *if your dog is not properly groomed, these services will be provided for your at an additional cost - must be socialized with all kinds of dogs - if your dog has been trained, proof of completion of a training program must be submitted - dog owners must provide complete emergency contact information and vet information, including address and phone number If any of these requirements are not met, I reserve the right to refuse service. I can accommodate a wide array of dogs, including puppies and special needs dogs, including amputees. I am comfortable with administering all types of medication. Before caring for your dog, I would like to know the following: - has your dog ever stayed with someone else before? - does your dog know his or her name? - does your dog listen to you? - what commands does your dog know how to follow? - does your dog bark a lot? - does your dog experience severe separation anxiety? - does your dog get along with other dogs? - does your dog know how to walk on a leash? - any allergies? - any medical needs? - any dietary restrictions? - any aggression? (with food, other dogs, new people) - what kinds of dogs and other animals does your dog NOT get along with? Any other specific information as to your dogs preferences would be very helpful. We will discuss all this and more during our meet & greet. I must meet all potential guests before making arrangements. This is an essential part in ensuring that your dog will be comfortable with me staying with them in your home. Any special requests are also welcome.
