Pet care experience
We have have had a cat now for ~5 years; we got him as a kitten. Our families both have dogs, Ebba’s family has a boxer who is now ~3 years old and Alec’s family has a pug mix breed ~11 years and we love them both very much. Alec grew up with two small dogs in the house. We have both have been asked by neighbors to help with walking- and letting their dogs out as well as in-house cat-sitting many times. Alec is a medical resident and quite busy this year but Ebba has more flexibility to come see your furry friends so most likely you’ll be interacting with her. Feel free to shoot us a message if you need help during the days we have scheduled as unavailable, sometimes it's just for parts of the day and we can work something out together. The same goes for boarding, our cat is a little uneasy with medium/large dogs which is why we have made this option unavailable; we can always talk about it!

Alec and Emma were such gracious caretakers of my sweet Beagle Yuna. She has a complicated medical history and is not the easiest to keep an eye on. They gave her meds on time and helped her through a seizure (she has epilepsy) that she unfortunately had while staying with them. They took her on walks every day and sent cute pics and videos. I can not thank them enough for their kindness and patience with her unique temperament as well as their transparency with how she was doing while staying with them.

We live in an apartment with an indoor cat so it may not be ideal for us to bring your pet to our place depending on what they think of cats and not having a yard, we are open to talking about it though! Getting to our apartment requires an elevator ride (just an fyi). We love playing with pets and practicing tricks - our cat even knows a few - as well as going on walks for plenty of sniffs. We have experience with crates as well but less with crate training and more with dogs who already know their crate.

It is important to us to know the temperament of the dog in advance, as well as how it may react to other people while out and about. It is also always important to note any special things like potential triggers, allergies, routines, etc.
A typical day
We like going on walks - we find it stimulating for both ourselves and the dog(s) to be outside in nature. We both also have a lot of fun when playing different games both indoor and outdoor and have practiced amateur nosework and agility with our family dogs. Snuggles are also always a welcome part of the interactions with animals. We are new to Chicago so if you have some tips about the different areas let us know!
