Hey, I’m Alanna!
Pet care experience
I’ve been working or volunteering with dogs in some sense since I was 13. I began volunteering at the CNY SPCA at a young age, and went on to intern there with the cruelty officers in hopes of becoming one myself. I obtained a degree in criminal justice and have since taken on a different path working with juvenile offenders/delinquents for Onondaga county. I served as a volunteer and also on the board of directors of a local bull breed rescue for several years. Currently I own one dog, and participate in conformation and canine sporting events with her. I have experience working with dogs who struggle with dog aggression and selectivity. I am also comfortable handling large dogs, working dogs, and higher drive working breeds.
Reviews
Alanna was absolutely incredible with our dog. She sent daily updates and pictures to let us know how she was doing. Definitely will want her watching our dog again this year. Sorry this was so late in reviewing!
Our Buddy is a whole lot of energy and Alanna was not deterred at all by him. She made sure to make sure he was able to get his energy out, even if it was later in the evening when it’s usually time to wind down. Would definitely recommend, especially for any dogs with special needs!
We had a great experience with Alanna! We were coming from a few hours away so a meet and greet ahead of time was not an option but she made it seamless; we met, discussed our dogs habits and needs, Alanna took her for a short walk and we headed out confident that our dog was in good hands! Our dog does NOT get along with other dogs and she took that seriously. We enjoyed getting photo updates and we came back to a very happy dog. Highly recommend!
Having Alanna board Oakey was an excellent experience. This was our first time boarding the dog and the meet and great set us at ease with the experience. She is calm and knowledgeable of dogs. She was great at checking in and making sure we knew he was settling in and was responsive to our concerns. Her place is a very good environment for dogs. I would recommend her to anyone who needs boarding.

Safety, trust & environment
I live in a house in Tipp Hill with an 8 year old child. We have a non-fenced front yard, and go to the park every day. I do a lot of enrichment activities with my own dog and dogs I board, like flirt pole, brain games, puzzle toys, etc… Full disclosure: I do own an intact female dog. She is not currently and will not be spayed. I do not board male dogs during active heat.

Information Alanna R. would like to know about your pet
Before a stay id like to know any pertinent medical information about your dog. If they are altered, and who their vet is. It’s also helpful to know what their drive and energy levels are, favorite toys and activities, and how they react on leash when they see other dogs on walks.
A typical day
Lots of play time and positive reinforcement! Ready and willing to accommodate and be consistent with current training techniques and goals.I am confident in utilizing all training tools, or none.

Availability
I work 8:00-4:30 M-F, but may have more availability during the summer as I work in a school. I’m generally available on weekends for drop in visits, and after work during the week. I also come home on my lunch break. I do not have a fenced in yard, but we spend the majority of the day outside at local parks.
