My husband (Pema) and I (Alana) adore every dog that we've had stay with us--those who are cuddly, active, or silly, and those who have special needs (behavioral or physical illnesses) who do well in a calm environment. After fostering numerous stray dogs, we both got an itch to have dogs be a more steady part of our lives. Pema is a chef and I am a doctoral student, which gives us a very flexible schedule, and means I am home most of the day typing away. Pema has worked previously in a veterinarian clinic, and grew up with sheep, yaks, and enormous mastiffs in the grasslands of Tibet, while I grew up in New York, with little dogs named Doodle, Tootsie, and Bambi. Between the two of us, there is a lot of love for our animal friends. We have a fenced in yard, and always go for walks with the dogs we watch, so just tell us their outdoor time/ exercise needs! We’ve watched a range of dogs, from young puppies to esteemed elder pups. The smallest brought to us through Rover was 5lbs, the largest was 175lbs! It was a tight fit in our one bedroom, but we made it work! We both have administered medicine (oral and topical) and given insulin shots to diabetic dogs. We know how scary it can be to leave your love with strangers, and you can expect regular updates and photos from us to keep your mind at ease. We're so excited to meet your pups and you!
