I am extremely passionate about animals and I bring a unique wealth of experience. I have been a veterinary assistant for over 7 years and have lots of prior pet care and pet sitting experience. I have worked with animals of all types and temperaments; cats, dogs, puppies, seniors, special needs, anxiety, nervous dogs, exotic pets, small animals, farm animals and more. I am very experienced with giving medications. I'm also very comfortable giving injections or sub-q fluids if your pet needs them while you are away.

I was out of town for a long weekend and had Alana drop in to visit my 2 chihuahua mix dogs. She was able to come in early evening and provide medication to one of the dogs. She would provide daily updates of her visits along with a timeline for each visit. She also provided pictures of both dogs and spent time petting and playing with them. They both enjoy her company and although they were glad to see me upon my return, they had been fed well and were in good spirits, so I was comforted that they had been treated well.
My cat is very happy and not stessed out, which says it all! Alana is punctual, provides updates . No worries about Daisy cat while I was traveling. Zena

Information Alana S. would like to know about your pet
I have no breed or size preferences. I am comfortable working with animals of any temperament and working on training of any kind. Things I'd love to know about your pet is what is your pets personality like? Do they have any favorite toys or spots in the house? Do they like treats or have a favorite treat? Do they like the TV or Radio left on for them? Are they on any medications? If so, how often to they need them? What kind of feeding schedule are they on (fed once a day, 2x a day, etc). and how often do they like to go outside and go potty or for a walk?
A typical day
Usually I try to find a place near your house to take your pet for a walk but I also know several good places to walk that are dog friendly, such as Columbia River Renaissance Trail (this one is 5 miles long). For a nice leashed walk, I love going to park trails or nice forested trails, but we can also find a nice sidewalk path if it's not a busy road. If you have a fenced back yard we can have a monitored play session, potty time or training session outside. I love playing chase and throwing a ball, stick or other toy your dog has that they like to run after. I am always aware of my surroundings and keep a close eye on your pet. I love giving lots of positive reinforcement and building confidence.

Availability
I'm currently working part time so my schedule varies every week. I will do my best to keep my calendar updated. My days off of my day job are when I am available to help with your furry baby. I am available in the morning and afternoon before 2pm. Evenings are not available at this time.
