As a second year veterinary student at Cornell University and an employee of the ICU at the Cornell Hospital for Animals, animal care is something I value. During my college career, I worked as a veterinary assistant at a small animal general practice in Los Angeles. This job enhanced my confidence and ability to handle all dogs and cats regardless of their demeanor, administer medication, and provide basic animal care. I was also involved in Guiding Eyes for the Blind at Cornell where I was a pet sitter for the dogs in training. But, my years of experience, handling and taking care of dogs began in high school where I volunteered at a local animal shelter almost everyday after school. My primary roles at this shelter were to walk, feed, provide medication, and provide companionship to the dogs. Along with this, I ran a local dog-walking business for my community. Although my passion in life is to become a veterinarian, I enjoy hiking, surfing, swimming, and just enjoying the outdoors!
