Pet care experience
I take care of every dog as if they were my own – which I also have a 12yo Siberian Husky with Megaesophogus and Hip Arthritis, I rescued him years ago as a retired sled dog in Breckenridge. Friends love that I know how to work with special needs. With your pup, we'll have conversations, (I talk to animals) and provide lots of love & pets. I love animals, and bond with them almost instantly (all kinds! I also have a ferret we rescued, and have had cats, frogs, snakes to hedgehogs). I've been taking care of dogs my whole life. My first was a golden lab mix my dad let me rescue from the Humane Society when I was 7, where he taught me the responsibility of having a pet. Friends, roommates, my own... I take this seriously as I love animals and am professional. I've worked/volunteered for no-kill shelters, foster cared shelter animals, volunteered with the SPCA and even a Wolf Sanctuary. I've only rescued my pets, including my current whiney butt Husky (he's a CO native). I'm prideful of leaving a clean house, safe environment (my dog eats plastic if left unattended, I know how to handle this), and I have experience administering medications. I work from home, with close access from the 70 / Arvada. Love all dogs and breeds, I've even done some training with guard dogs (Shepherd breeds, Malanoise, Etc. I am NOT a professional trainer, but I'm happy to follow protocols if your dog is trained / in training). Let's meet up! I'm always happy to meet your kiddo before booking – if your dog prefers females, I can recommend my Gf as well, we're both on Rover!

AJ is a true dog lover. He has a gift for commanding the respect and trust of all of the dogs he watches. He is understanding, intelligent, and truly passionate about making dogs feel at ease. AJ has walked, dog-sat, and camped with my large German Shepherd mix. He did an incredible job making sure all the dogs he was with were safe and entertained. AJ has excellent communication skills, is extremely prompt, and is a great person to know. I recommend him over any and all of the Rover dog-sitters I have used.
AJ has shown a lot of love and care for our dogs, especially for our little chihuahua-pomeranian from the time he was just starting to go camping until his senior years. AJ has a large well-behaved husky, but understands the delicate nature of a small dog with a lion's heart. His husky is the only big dog who puts up with our little chi-pom, thanks for putting up with our little rascal! We trust AJ and his understanding of the needs of dogs, and hope you will too!

Toys and where they are, tricks the dog knows, what types of treats are acceptable. Temperament with other dogs, allergies, leash aggression or other things to watch for as well as off-leash ability. Swimming allowed or desired. We like to make home-made dog treats!
A typical day
I prefer to walk where the dog is comfortable, so communication with owner is key for walking areas close to home. If acceptable, I like to take dogs with Nikolai to Centennial Park and other local dog friendly areas. Just to note as Rover I feel is unclear on what "overnight" means, but I do a standard overnight as: I will stay with your pup overnight from evening to early AM, taking care of them and staying with them. If they need drop-in visits during the day as well, I am absolutely available, but that is an additional option to an overnight.
