Pet care experience
My dog experience begins with my first family pet, a Chow mix, who we got when I was around 10. I was the dog lover of the family and she got lots of attention from me! I began dog sitting for some families a few years later, caring for small and large dogs. In high school, I volunteered at a dog rescue for at least a year. Now I have my first very own dog - a Shar-Pei mix rescue named Hasana. If your dogs are on the calmer side they could meet each other; she just gets nervous easily. I've been with Rover.com for a few years now and it's been great! I've enjoyed working with all kinds of dogs, and even some cats! I do not mind working with skittish dogs or, on the opposite side of the spectrum, boisterous/excitable dogs. I also have experience with elderly dogs and administering medications if need be.

I keep my things out of reach of the dogs if it presents a possible choking or toxic hazard. Monitor the play if there is more than one dog, in case it turns aggressive. Am careful not to let them run out the front door when coming in and out

I do not have any preference as to what type of dog I will be sitting. It is good to know who their vet is in case something comes up. Any problem behaviours.
A typical day
When I stay with a dog, I can go for walks around the neighborhood or take them to a park. If they don't know basic commands, I can work on teaching those to them (for example, sit, stay, come). We'll also play tug-of-war and fetch and other fun games throughout the day. There is the option of bringing my dog along for socialization, if I am sitting for or walking a non-aggressive low key dog. And give them pets and attention and treats!
