Responsible, reliable, and ready!

Pet care experience

I’m a long time animal lover, parent to a basset hound I’ve had since she was 6 weeks old and now we’ve added a new addition, Gamora, a blue tick coonhound. My families been the dairy farm biz in AK since 1936 and taking care of animals has been a normal part of life since I can remember. There’s never been a time I haven’t been surrounded by and/or cared for multiple types of creatures from the typical house pet to even a magpie baby I raised. Working a farm, dogs especially were always a big part the lifestyle. I’m “that” girl at a party or on the street more likely to bombard you with questions about your dog then your own kids (a joke but only a little lol). At this point, I’ve lost count of the different animals, breeds and personalities I’ve had the opportunity to care for (including miniature donkeys and even alpacas) so I’m happy to do it all. A typical day with your pet, more specifically your dog in this instance, would include their normal schedule of course but I try to spend as much time as I can outside, hiking, going on walks, or to the lake if you have water baby. Currently, though technically employed, it consist of very little traveling and just some occasional work from home which I keep my calendar up to date daily when I can. Relax knowing that spending the time and attention with your pet is a priority and being a dog owner myself, especially with a 6 month old I’m always very involved ad you will rarely see me without my sidekicks as I go about my day so if you do have a fur baby that enjoys car rides just let me know, because who doesn’t love a good joy ride. I do still live on the family farm which I just moved back too and am currently residing and will begin renovating an old 1950s farm house that sits on the corner of 160 acres of our private property farm land, hiking trails and even private creek and lake access so I do try to get outside for runs and walks with my dogs as much as possible weather permitting. If you’re looking for a home away from home and even just the day for your fur babies, look no further! I guarantee you’ll have one happy, but tired furball by the time he/she is heading home! If you have any other questions and/or concerns about cost and services do not hesitate to contact me. Thanks for reading!

Aimee is a very personable and responsible person. She initiated checks with us and wanted to know Kai's personality and habits leading up to Kai's walk to make sure everything was a go for the walk. Our Kai got along with Aimee and her pup Rogues right off the bat and was very comfortable around them. We were going to have Aimee do a couple of house sittings for us but our pup got a little carried away and injured her leg. We highly recommend Aimee for dog walking or house sitting for your pup(s) and hope to acquire her services if she's available. Aimee sent us a message to see how Kai was doing and wish us a Happy Holiday... Awesome!

I highly recommend Aimee as a dog walker. She handled our two young, energetic dogs great and kept me up to date everyday with pictures and information about their walks. She was 100% reliable and very pleasant to deal with. I will definitely use her services in the future.

Aimee is an excellent Petsitter. She watched my 3 dogs while sending me regular updates. 10/10 would recommend.

Aimee is a very kind and warm individual that has an ease with working with animals and communicates easily and clearly with humans! Mavis and I enjoyed meeting her and Rogue, who is the sweetest dog ever! We had a positive experience during our meet & greet and short trial playdate.

Currently my home is located on the corner of my families 160 acre farm which not only includes open fields but hiking trails as well as private lake and creek access. Weather permitting youde typically found us enjoying something outside. My home is practically indestructible being built sometime in the 1950s and very dog orientated, hard wood floors, a separate dog/laundry room even. As for when staying clients home my whole goal is to leave it in the same if not better condition it was so that when clients get home it’s like I was even there.

Information Aimee H. would like to know about your pet

I do not have any breed preferences. However I would like to know how the interact with other dogs, children, and strangers so that I can be vigilant about keeping both the dog and those around safe. Any medications, how well they do off leash. Only in cases of trail runs or they love freedom of having access to so many open fields and trails where they are safe.

A typical day

I do a lot of mountain hiking, trail walking, and running if weather permits. I live on 160 acres of farm land and trails I enjoy quite a bit. My youngest pup requires lost of exercise so I try to get out and trail run her when possible if that’s something you think your pet would enjoy. Also with owners permission I occasionally do group dog walks from my home with girlfriends which can be fun. I think socializing dogs is important, and excellent way to manage any negative or anxious behaviors brought on by boredom. Once warmer temperatures, we spend a lot of time at our private lake as well.

Availability

Owning two dogs myself, 7 years old and 5 months, I’m no stranger to importance of routine, especially any sort of pet in new surroundings and just overall find it necessary for everyone’s sanity, human and animals. However I know schedules can vary so I always request a detailed sheet with everything from schedules, medications, contacts, ect
