Pet care experience
If you need someone to hang out with your pup while you take a weekend trip or just take care of a full day of errands, bring them on over to my house and rest easy knowing they'll be well cared for and the center of attention. Dogs in my care will receive near-constant supervision so you don't need to worry about anything happening to them while you're away. I grew up with two miniature schnauzers, but I have since hosted all kids of dogs through Rover and DogVacay. My dogs have both passed away now but one of them needed a lot of special care in her last years, so I am comfortable with dogs who need oral medications or just a little special care and attention to make sure that they are comfortable and happy. I really like interacting with Aidan during the period, leading up to my dog's boarding and during the boarding. She was amazing with sending photos and letting me know how Doxie was doing. I appreciate her flexibility the best and that she could accommodate changes in my itinerary, even up to the day of pick up! I would use her service again in a heartbeat! Not to mention that she's rather close to my home!
Aidan was great with Whistle! She was very responsive and I had full confidence that Whistle would have a great stay with her!

My yard is unfenced so we never put dogs out unsupervised, and most exercise will come from long walks in the nearby MacDonald Woods forest preserve. If your dog loves water, though, we have lake access in our backyard and in the warmer months pups can take a swim if that's something they enjoy! We don't currently have a dog of our own so our guests get our full attention and there are no worries about compatibility or stress from different play styles. We don't have a crate but if you want to bring one over we can accommodate that routine.

We like to know the usual walking and eating habits, and any fears or anxieties the dogs might have. We like to know about any medications in advance, as well.
A typical day
We're near the MacDonald Woods Forest Preserve which has lots of great walking paths and the Duck Farm Forest Preserve which has an off-leash area to really get those zoomies out. For water-loving dogs we also have lake access in our backyard so in the warmer months a swim is always just a few steps away!
