Med student w/ lots of love to give

Pet care experience

My name is Aidan. I am a first year med student at Penn State College of Medicine with lots of love to give to your fur babies. I have taken care of horses, dogs, and cats throughout my childhood, as well as fostering a few cats while people were in the process of moving. I am a very active person, so exercise, be that through walks/runs or just play time, for your animal would be high on priority list. However, since I am a med student and most of my time is spent studying, I will be home frequently and able to spend time with your animals. In addition, I am a good cook, so if your pup has special dietary restrictions, I am able to make him or her whatever they need to be "wagging tail" happy. If you have any specific questions , I am available for a phone call or text! I understand how much one cares for their animals, and I would love to help you care for them in any way that I can.

*Apologies for the long review. Short story: she drank/stole a bunch of alcohol. Long story: read on.* We have had several dog walkers and sitters stay with our dog in the past several months. After a weekend away, we noticed some alcohol was missing from a bottle on our home bar; we were not positive who was responsible, so we decided to begin photographing the bar bottles and other high-risk/value items in the house before any weekends away as a security precaution. Two weekends ago, we hired this sitter, who had stayed overnight in our house around the time we first discovered missing alcohol. We were gone for approximately 24 hours. When we returned home, the house and our dog appeared in order…until we looked at the bar. Comparing the photos we had taken just 24 hours earlier, we could clearly see that inches of alcohol had been removed from at least 5 different bottles. We estimate it would be the equivalent of around 20 drinks total. Shocked and disappointed, we reached out to the sitter, who admitted to drinking two shots from the Jameson bottle. Incidentally, this was the same bottle that first aroused our suspicions several months ago that someone had been drinking from the bar. Though the sitter denied having guests over, we determined she either 1) drank all of that alcohol herself over the course of 24 hours, 2) had guests over for a party in violation of our explicit request to not allow anyone else in the house but herself, or 3) helped herself to a drink or two while at our house and poured copious amounts of alcohol into containers to take with her when she left. I am honestly still not sure which of the three possible situations I find more disturbing. I hesitated to write a review like this as I know this will impact the sitters rating; however, I fairly gave the sitter the opportunity to explain the situation, which is clearly documented with time-stamped photo evidence. Unfortunately, she chose not to be truthful even when confronted. The sitter stopped responding to my messages, which were both respectful and professional. I reached out to Rover and have been refunded for the stay, but they said there was no further financial recourse they could make on our behalf. The estimated cost to replace all of the bottles that had alcohol removed would be around $140. Rover strongly encouraged writing a review and said they would be discussing safety and professionalism with the sitter. Mostly, we felt this was an enormous breach of trust. By allowing this sitter into our home, we expected her to care for and respect our home, belongings, and space. We honestly would have even been ok with her having a drink from the bar if she would have simply asked. We often tell sitters they can help themselves to beers in the fridge as well or any snacks they want to enjoy while they are in our home. The dishonesty of this situation and the sitters choice to continue being dishonest even when confronted is the real issue. If anything, I just hope this review helps someone else be prepared if they choose to hire this sitter. Keep all alcohol or other high-risk/value items under lock and key.

Excellent! Sent plenty pictures of my pups and I know they were loved and happy! Even my shy pup warmed up while in her care.

I was very unhappy with the experience I had with Aidan. I booked her to watch my mom's dogs from Friday through Sunday. I booked the drop off time at 3-5 pm on Friday and the pickup time at 5-7 pm on Sunday. Everything went fine with the drop off; my mom said Aidan was very nice. I never acutally met her myself. However, things took a turn for the worse on Sunday regarding the pickup time. Aidan texted my mom on Sunday morning to check in and see what time she was planning on picking up the dogs. My mom asked her what time she would be back from her hike because Aidan had told my mom she was going on a 3 hour hike that morning. Aidan told my mom she would be back by 1:30. My mom told Aidan we were going shopping and she probably wouldn't be at her house until about 4:00. Aidan then responded, "Oh so you won't be available until 4?" At this point my mom was getting upset because she was starting to feel as though she needed to be at the house to pick them up before 4 because of Aidan's response. I told my mom that I had scheduled the pickup to be between 5 and 7. My mom responded to Aidan and said my daughter said she booked it between 5 and 7 but I will be there before then to pick them up. Aidan then responded and said, "Okay. See you at 4. I have to leave at 4:30 for an event." This communication all took place via text messaging. At this point I called Aidan on the phone to see why she would book an event at 4:30 when she committed to watching the dogs until potentially 7:00 that night. She responded by saying that my mom said she would get there at 4. I said well my mom just said that because she was upset thinking she had to get there earlier than planned because of how you were texting her and I was now telling her that it was possible my mom would get there earlier but we weren't sure what our plans were that day and if we couldn't get there until between 5 and 7 we wanted that option as originally planned. She said she thought the pickup and dropoff times were the same to which I asked her if she had been doing Rover.com for awhile to which she said she did so I couldn't understand how she got that confused but even so if she did, she could have apologized for the misunderstanding and moved on. Instead, she accused me of getting hostile and then told me it's fine, ill just rearrange everything and you can get here between 5 and 7 or later than 7, it doesn't matter, acting as if I was inconveniencing her. It was extremely unprofessional. I said we are not going to get there later than 7, we are going to get there between 5 and 7 as originally scheduled. In the end, my mom did end up getting there around 4:00 but I did not want to feel as though we HAD to be there by 4 so that our paid dogwatcher could make it to an event at 4:30. When my mom went to get the dogs, Aidan said Oh I thought you weren't going to get here until 5....just very rude and unprofessional and a major sense of entitlement. I'm sorry but when you are getting paid to do a job until a certain time and you commit to that, you don't schedule events at 4:30 and make the customer feel that they need to get there earlier than scheduled.

Information Aidan H. would like to know about your pet

I have no breed preferences, however, I would like to know if the dog is prone to accidents. Unfortunately, I do not have a yard, as I live in an apartment and would need a dog that is either house trained or one that can wait for bathroom breaks between 4-8hrs on days that I am in class for those amount of hours.

A typical day

I have a running trail 3 minute walk from my house! I also have a jeep, so we can always just go find hiking trails and water if they like that.
