After working for a long time in kitchens and farms, where the work is often grueling and the rewards minimal, I decided to pursue something that would not only bring me pleasure, but others as well -- including our four-legged furry friends! As a pet sitter, I aim to make pups happy during their time away from loving parents; I believe this not only benefits the dogs, but makes the parents feel at ease about their time away. But gardening is still one of my favorite hobbies, and I relish working with plants as both medicine and food. In fact, I love cooking so much for my friends that I’m happy to be your dog’s personal chef too! As a stay-at-home dog mom, I am available for my pups all day. Any given day, we are up and running into the backyard by 6 a.m. for our morning business followed by a hearty breakfast. After breakfast, my senior dogs like to take a quick snooze before we’re all up and about again. I’m also currently working with my three dogs in the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) program and my goal is to introduce the youngest one into the community as a companion animal. Ultimately, I would like to start or contribute to a non-profit focused on housing geriatric dogs who have been surrendered by their families because of age-related medical issues. I adopted my first dog when she was 10-and-a-half years old after she was abandoned because of her age and health. She is now 14 and is going strong. I love her with all my heart, and she reminds me every day that age ain't nothing but a number! I live on the east side of Portland in a townhouse community near the Springwater Corridor. We have a small backyard with a garden and a view of the neighbor’s yard so everyone can chat about their Dalmatian pups. I love taking walks and we are near the Lents International Farmers Market and there’s also an off-leash dog park up the street. There’s certainly no lack of things to do around here!
