Caring for Guest Dogs & Foster Pups

Pet care experience

About Us: My husband Chris and I are "dog crazy" and are those people that bring their dogs to vacation, local restaurants, and dog parks. Together we began fostering dogs and puppies back in 2013. Since we already had the extra bowls, toys, beds, leashes, shampoo, towels, etc., we started dogsitting in 2015 and have been actively welcoming in guest pups each month since then. Because of all the new introductions, our two dogs Maya and Ellie are more than used to visiting pups and dogs staying over. Details You Need to Know: As much as I would LOVE to be a stay-at-home-dog-mom, this is not our full-time job so please excuse the delay in response. We do work traditional 9-to-5s, but my husband works close by and has some flexibility. There is always someone home to let the dogs out around lunch time for a break in the day. Our townhome is fully fenced in with a large backyard (for a townhome, anyway). Outside the back gate, our yard faces a large wooded and undeveloped area that's spacious enough to walk the dogs, play frisbee, and let them chase and roll around with each other. If you'd like to meet us, Maya, and Ellie, feel free to schedule a Meet and Greet beforehand :) As Rover sitters, we offer a stay discount to pets of other Rover sitters. Message me for more information. ***Please note:*** While we have been dogsitting for quite some time, we are very much limiting our availability in 2018 and going forward. In addition, we have to enforce accepting only non-vocal dogs being that we are in a townhome and in close proximity to our neighbors. We also have to limit the size of guest dogs to under 35 pounds and male dogs must be neutered.

Adrienne and Chris always treat our dogs like their own. Max loved his time spent last weekend and always makes himself right at home. We appreciate that they always make it convenient for us with drop-off' and pick-up on our way home as well!!

Our dogs were happy and well cared for while we were away. Adrienne sent us pictures throughout and they looked right at home!

Adrienne was wonderful taking care of all two beagles for 9 nights while we were away on vacation this past August. She kept us updated and sent wonderful pictures. I even used some for our upcoming Christmas card!! I highly recommend her! Our dogs were happy and well cared for, and I feel like they got a vacation playing with her dogs too! Teresa

Information Adrienne O. would like to know about your pet

Since we are in a townhome, small and medium sized breeds are preferred (though my fiancé would be okay with the largest dog possible). I would love to know the activity level of your dog -- whether he would rather run circles with my border collie or curl up and veg out with my dachshund. Are they the kinda pup itching to go to the park or are okay with a couch potato day. It would also be great to know what to expect when it comes to their temperament towards people and other dogs -- it's really important they get along with my two easygoing pups.

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks As mentioned before we're close to a huge dog park. It's really liked 4 dog parks put into one with all its large sections, and it even has dog agility training equipment. We also take our guys on walks throughout out neighborhood every other day, especially in the nicer weather. Your dog's sleeping arrangement It completely depends! The first night may be in the crate we have set up, but if your dog is a cuddler like ours and gets along smoothly with our two, we have room in our bedroom (our bed, an ottoman, and a dog bed) for your dog too. Time I'll spend with your dog During the week we both work until 5pm but once we're home, all of our attention is on our spoiled dogs :) your dog would just be part of the same loving attention. I also have ability to be home on lunch breaks to let them out, say hi, and give a treat. Most weekends we're at home either doing home improvement activities, Netflix marathons, or taking another trip to the nearby Dog park. For the weekends we're dog sitting, we would go out of our way to make sure we're spending as much time as possible with your dog.
