When you schedule with me, ask about upgrading your pets walk to an experience! I offer safe adventure hikes in local parks that keep your best friend engaged. I take plenty of pictures along the way. If your companion likes company, I’m happy to arrange a group outing with a playmate or bring a pre-approved guest walker. Before coming home you can add an old school outdoor bath with me, nail trim, or transportation to and from your groomer. I understand how stressful it can be leaving your pet with someone new. I want you to feel confident in my ability to handle your dog, see that I have a strong grip on the leash and won’t ever let go. If you have special needs like medications that need to be administered, or subcutaneous fluids injected, I’m capable. If you have a senior pup, kitty, or parrot I have two pet strollers - one X-Large, and one medium, made especially for pets. My Basset hound battled leukemia and we were lucky to be part of a UC Davis program. I’m familiar with current cancer treatments, medications, how to administer them and the special emergency situations that can arise when caring for a special needs pet. I am skilled at providing professional grooming services to parrots and other companion birds ranging from macaws to finches. In addition to hand feeding formula to a just hatched clutch and weaning fledglings, I’m professionally trained to clip parrot nails - if you are comfortable helping and handling with me, I clip wings, and can remove blood feathers, should there be an accidental break with severe blood-loss. Exotic animals require special handling and knowledge. For example: chemical sprays (including perfumes and hairspray) can never be used near avians, nonstick Teflon can’t be overheated in their presence and cleanliness and disinfection is extremely important. I convalesced a 5 foot Iguana abandoned and burned by a heat lamp, and so I’m familiar with their traits and learned the hard way they have razor sharp teeth! It’s difficult to leave home if you are a breeder with a multitude of avians and other animals on a farm or just an enthusiast with a companion parrot or Lory at home. I’d be thrilled to be a substitute companion for you and your family. I provide transportation in a safe Dodge Grand Caravan which can hold 2-4 large crates with the seats removed.
