Animal-Loving, adventurous person

Pet care experience

Hi! My name is Adrian and I've pretty much trained and cared for dogs my entire life. I've always been an animal-lover and am very comfortable around all types of pets. Growing up I always wanted to interact with all the dogs and found a lot of joy in playing and training dogs at home and in the neighborhood. On top of my personal experience with pets, I've also volunteered at several animal shelters, done extensive pet sitting and have helped train several puppy's of my friends and family. I've come to learn how unique every dogs personality can be and that they all require a unique approach to make them comfortable and happy when away from their owner. I recently moved from Colorado to Austin with my girlfriend and our 9-month old Jindo puppy. Although sad to have left behind all my Colorado puppy clients, I'm excited to meet all the new dogs here in Austin.

Adrian is a very caring person and he is so loving with animals --- I would trust him to care for my dog anytime and know he'll do a great job caring for yours as well! Whenever Adrian comes to visit, my dog Jacques ends up spending all his time with Adrian. I'd definitely recommend him to sit or walk your dog!

We left our dachshund Pepper with Adrian during a 5 day trip to Portland. It was the first time we left her for longer than a day! Adrian was great, he sent us pictures of the two of them having fun throughout our trip and answered any text messages (no matter how obsessive puppy parent ridiculous) promptly and made us feel like we could enjoy our time away. When we got back from our trip Pepper kept jumping into his arms, she had created quite a bond with Adrian! We will certainly be using him as our pet sitter again!

Adrian helped us with our little puppy Pepper, a tweenie Dachshund with a lot of personality. He was very friendly, happy to play and great at giving walks and following directions.

Adrian has an extraordinary love for dogs. This genuine love is apparent in the way he provides each dog with the proper care and attention they desire. He is a responsible and patient caregiver that anyone could depend on.

I know how uncomfortable dogs can be around new people, especially when it involves them being in their own space, so I like to meet the dogs somewhere outside for the first time and make sure the dog is comfortable with me. I have the same approach when I know that I will be bring my dog along for a walk and make sure the dogs are comfortable with each other. My main priority is that your pets are comfortable and well taken care of. When spending a prolong time with my clients pet, I like to make sure they get plenty of exercise as it does wonders for any anxiety they may have. I also always make sure there is plenty of fresh water available before I leave. I'm also glad to help with any other chores when I'm dog sitting at a client's home, such as watering plants, taking out trash, etc.

Information Adrian W. would like to know about your pet

Just to get an idea of the dog I would like to know a bit about their personality and how trained they are, however I am open to care for all types of dogs. It's helpful to know how comfortable your dog is with strangers, how he behaves on walks and how energetic they can be. I also like to know if there are any medical things I need to know about the dog and his diet, as well if he has any situations that trigger anxiety (thunder, separation).

A typical day

I like to go for several walks throughout the day usually to different locations. Where I go for walks depends mostly on the size and character of the dog I'm sitting. If I'm taking care of a dog that likes to socialize a lot, I might frequent a dog park in the area where they can run and play with different dogs. If your dog is shy I usually stay away from crowded parks and find some less trafficked trails to go on a walk or hike on. If a dog likes to play fetch a lot, I try to find a secluded wide-open space where I can through a ball or frisbee around. I'm a very active person myself, so no matter how much energy your dog has, I can find a good activity that it will enjoy, while also receiving their required dose of exercise. If I'm dog sitting for a full day or more I like to adhere to the walk schedule your dog already has, to make them as comfortable as possible and not bring too much change into their life.

Currently left my full time job in order to move to Austin, so pet-care has become my full-time routine till I find new employment. I have a very flexible schedule and am able to offer services throughout the day.
