I Treat Your Fur Babies As My Own
Pet care experience
I am the go-to pet sitter and dog walker for family and friends. I have experience with animal rescues since being a youth volunteer at the York County SPCA while in high school. During high school, I also assisted my father and stepmother in general pet care and shelter maintenance at Pet Rescue, Inc. in Miami Dade, FL during my summer breaks. We also helped to get shelter cats acclimated to multi-animal households by fostering. After graduating from Drexel University in 2013, I volunteered at Operation Ava ( now Saved Me Adoption Center) in Philadelphia. While I sometimes took dogs for walks, and attended several lessons for how to work with traumatized puppies rescued from puppy mills, my main contribution was in photography. I would photograph adoptable dogs and cats and post them on Petfinder, Petango, and Adopt a Pet. I am a proud cat mom of Polaris, a very intelligent and sassy tortoiseshell! We currently share a house with family and their handsome cat named Phleaflee (named by my little brother). I grew up with dogs, but I currently cannot have a dog, and so any excuse to spend time with one makes me very happy. I am enrolled in pet grooming school, and studying my written texts now. My hands-on practicum will begin this March (2019). I love animals, and hope to have a livelihood around helping pets and their parents. I do have a full-time job in sports retail. I can help to care for and pamper your fur babies on Wednesdays and Sundays. I have also hiked the Appalachian Trail, and am willing to take dogs on hikes, trail runs, or leisurely walks at local parks. Should a pet parent approve, transporting a dog in my car to locations nearby, but away from the home, is doable. Locations I know well are Rocky Ridge, Pinchot, the Rail Trail, Lake William's and the Mason Dixon Trail section near Shank's Mare. (Mason Dixon is rocky with much uphill walking, and must only be approved by pet parents who know that their dog is physically able. I will only agree to take dogs on this type of outing after having walked them at least one time prior.) I cannot wait to meet you and your best friends! Much Love, Adria
Reviews
Adria is an incredibly caring and dedicated friend to animals. She has cared for my mini zoo, including cats, dogs, and exotics. I feel that my babies are in good hands with her and highly recommend her to take care of yours!?
Having Adria as a close neighbor has been such a blessing. She is a total animal lover. Whenever I am away, she is the only person that I totally trust to take care of my dog (wire haired Griffon) and cat. My dog needs serious walking. Adria has on many occasions taken care of my pets. Her loving and caring nature is obvious by the way the pets get excited and happy when she is around. She has shown a strong sense of responsibility on every level. I would totally recommend Adria to anyone who needs their pets taken care of.
Adria has an amazing and compassionate heart for animals. She instantly bonds with all animals I have seen her with. She has a gift with understanding their temperaments and adjusting to their needs while walking or caring for them. I would highly recommend Adria to take care of your animals as her own.
Adeia is one of the most trusted woman I know. She has a heart for all animals on this planet. She cares deeply from walking the pet to feeding and 1,000 kisses to each pet she cares for. She treats animals with such tenderness and compassion . She has taken care of our dog Angel and our cat Izzy and they get so excited when she comes to our home. I would NOT have anyone else to watch our children (our pets are our children) but Adria SHE IS THE BEST AT LOVING OUR PETS and you will be richly rewarded if she gets to care for your pets. She has a heart of pure gold And guess what she plays with them too

Information Adria L. would like to know about your pet
I would enjoy meet and greets prior to home visits, or walks. If this is not possible, fluid communication with the owner is great! I would like to know a pet's favorite activities, if they have any anxiety triggers, if they have any allergies (food or otherwise), medications, if they have any history of injuries and what kind. What are their favorite treats? It is important for me to allow animals to be comfortable. I do not want any unnecessary risks or stress. Where I take a dog, how we play, and what I may give as a treat will be determined by the answers to these questions. And I will need to go over general information like their leash/harness set up, if they have dog shoes for certain weather or conditions, or if they have to wear a jacket of any kind.
A typical day
I am willing to transport dogs to local parks, and trails for leisure walks or jogs. I would prefer a meet and greet, or first time walk around the dog's residence prior to transporting a dog anywhere away from home. If the owner approves of transport, but cannot do a meet and greet then the rail trail, Pinchot, and Rocky Ridge have less aggressive trail options for a first-time walk/jog. Sections of the Mason Dixon Trail and Lake William's are more rugged, or advanced and will require getting to know the individual dog before I would take them on a walk there.
