Although I don’t have much experience, I’ve been complimented on the way I treat other family members’ household pets when I do spend time around them.

Because pets aren’t allowed in my home, I can’t really speak for that. Although in a client’s home, I’d make sure that there isn’t anything dangerous that the pet could possibly reach and I’d make sure to keep them in an area where they can’t run off or get lost. I will always show the pet how much I care about them and make sure that they remain happy and safe.

It’s important to know about their dietary restrictions, their energy level, their behavior towards other dogs, whether they’re trained or not, bathroom habits, and about things that may anger them or trigger then (so that I know to avoid doing those things).
A typical day
- If they’re the living type, some dog cuddles would be fun. - If they’re the hyper or energetic type, some fetch or a frisbee game could reduce some of that extra energy that they may have. - If it’s a cold day or the dog needs to stay inside, then we could play a game where they could find their treat or find their toy. - I currently don’t have any special places to go on walks, but it’d always be nice to find some.

I’m currently going to college full time so that takes up most of my afternoon, but I’m currently looking for something to do before class so that I could be more energetic and happy on a daily basis.
