10 Years Experience - I Work @ Home
Pet care experience
Hi there! I'm Abby! I have made a living dog sitting since I was a teenager and currently am looking to care for pets in my transition from insurance to full time animal care-taking/husbandry. I work from home so will be around all day if you board your dog with me. I get out most evenings enjoying hikes at Chataqua or walks around the neighborhood. We have a great dirt trail (LoBo trail) a half mile from my home that goes by beautiful farm land and horse pastures. I run most days at lunch time (3-4 miles depending on heat and your pup can join if they like that sort of thing). I enjoy all kinds of work with animals and just finished a year long volunteer stint at Equine Spirit Sanctuary when I was living in Taos. Previously, I volunteered at the humane society in Tallahassee and Orlando. Your dog will be well cared for and well exercised!
Reviews
What can I say about Abby? She is GREAT! My husband and I are the proud parents of a doodle who has A TON of energy. Everything from Abby's relaxed demeanor and warm aura to her astute and attentive k-9 etiquette is exactly what the doodle needs! Yankee LOVES her! I would absolutely recommend Abby as a surrogate doggie mother to any lucky pup out there.
Abigail was absolutely wonderful! You can see her bright personality beaming through from the instant you meet her. She sent us regular picture updates of the pups, and made sure to give them extra love while we were away. We will definitely be using her services again for our next trip!
Abigail is one of those rare people we are occasionally fortunate enough to come across in life whose mere presence nurtures the living creatures around her. From fawn to fowl. and everything in between, Abby loves and cares for all creatures that roams this earth. I am the human companion to a 5 year old red heeler named Brophy who has been lucky enough to be cared for by Abby. She is one of the only people I or he has every felt comfortable enough to let care for him in my absence. To this day mentioning Abby's name will get a head turn and ear perk. I avoid the cruelty of mentioning her name out loud around Brophy as he equates it to speaking the word "Walk" without the intentions of going on one. Anyone would be lucky to have Abigail act as care taker to their pet family member. You can be sure with Abby that care will be taken!
Abigail truly fits the definition of a pet lover. She is fun, energetic, friendly, outgoing and sincere. She is the girl who walks out of her way to say hello to a dog passing by on the street and strike up a conversation with the owner about the "sweet angel" that they have. Abigail is not only a pet lover, she is also a pet owner and a volunteer at a horse sanctuary. I have had the please of knowing Abigail for several years now on both a professional and personal level and I can attest to her strong sense of responsibility, integrity and genuine nature. I strongly recommend Abigail and endorse her pet services. Your pet will truly be in the best hands!

Information Abigail S. would like to know about your pet
Does your dog bolt at an open door? How does your dog respond to other dogs he/she meets on walks (on leash)? Food restrictions? Do you give him/her human food? Allergies or preferences? For example, some dogs don't like to be pet while eating/drinking, some get nervous about the vacuum or broom or trash bag... any specific quirks about the pup that one wouldn't know right off the bat!
A typical day
We will walk all around the plaza, down Gusdorf and around the Weimer dirt paths behind the neighborhood. If the forest opens again, I usually hike Divisadero early morning or late evening, when it cools off. If rain is an issue, we will walk and play close to home at Kit Carson park.
