I Take Care Like You Were There!
Pet care experience
I have been pet sitting for neighbors and friends since I was about 12 years old. I always took the job very seriously and have always felt for dogs missing their families. My ultimate goal when caring for your dog is to make him feel as though you never left by keeping to your routine and rules. I also have some experience with sport dogs and dog training. I know how to keep a rowdy pup in check and stick to a training program. I also have extensive experience taking care of dogs with health issues who need medication and extra supervision. All in all I have a well rounded dog resume and have cared for a variety of breeds from working German Shepherds to adorable Chihuahuas. Most Importantly I am not afraid of a challenging dog!
Reviews
Duke and I have known Abbie for over 5 years. Both of us are delighted by her kindness, trustworthiness and reliability. As a senior dog, Duke has some special needs which Abbie never fails to address when he's in her care. 10/10, 5 stars, whichever scale you care to use - she's our go-to dog sitter!
Abbie, is amazing with my German Shepherd! My shepherd suffers from separation anxiety when I travel. Abbie has such a way with all aminals and always leaves my home better than she found it .5☆☆☆☆☆ a +. Nan L.
I go on vacation often throughout the summer and fall and it is not easy finding someone you trust to care for your animals when you're gone. Abbie pays attention to detail and makes sure both of my dogs are well taken care of individually. When i call to check in with her about how theyre doing she always has everything under control and taken care of. She is a great trainer as well. My two pitbulls did not get along (they had to be walked, fed and caged separately) until abbie came along. It still amazes me watching them play together in my living room. Thank you Abbie!

I have a lot of knowledge to pull from and ideas to keep your pet feeling comfortable and active. I love taking dogs for hikes or long walks, and I also understand the importance of just having someone there in the house with them. My typical strategy is to balance stimulation with love and attention to keep your pet feeling safe and happy while you are away.
Information Abigail L. would like to know about your pet
Your dog's routine and habits are the most important thing I need to know ahead of time. Favorite toys, treats, and activities plus any concerns, behaviors, or training programs that need to be maintained while you are away. As someone who has worked with IPO titled dogs, I know how critical it is to use the same methods you use while you are away. It only takes a short period of time for that training to degrade and no one wants to come home to that.
A typical day
Northern Colorado has so many beautiful outdoor spaces and I love exploring them. My go-to is to find a space close your home that your dog and I can visit, either on a short drive or as part of a walk. Let me know what your dog's favorite activities are and I will make sure that we get in quality time doing those things while you are gone.

I currently work part-time as a home caregiver while also going to school online. I am free on weekends and a couple days during the week. I love the dynamic of splitting my work time between caring for people and caring for animals. No matter what, I am making someone's day a little better and a little easier.
