Pets have always been a major part of my life, so I know how important your furry family is to you! I am so excited to meet your pet and help make him or her more comfortable during your time away. AVAILABILITY: My schedule is very open, which leaves me lots of time to care for your pup. So if Fido doesn't like to be left alone for more than a few hours, I am happy and able to accommodate! I'm also a local to the area and will be in Hampton Roads long-term. If you're looking for someone to establish a relationship with your pet, who you can call on for years to come, I'm your girl. EXPERIENCE: I've been helping to care for pets in different capacities since I was little. We had dachshunds when I was very young then fostered a few dogs when I got a bit older. We've also adopted several cats through the years. Neighbors often called on me for pet sitting responsibilities while I was growing up. When I went away to college, I went through such pet withdraw that I volunteered at the local dog shelter all four years! A typical day volunteering meant cleaning cages, socializing and walking the dogs. I currently care for my cat, Hailey, and my parents 1-year-old Aussie Doodle, Bindi. She might technically be their dog, but I'm undeniably her fave :) I call this arrangement joint-custody, because I am able to play with her as often as I'd like (which is often), but I am still available to care for other pets without worrying about alternative arrangements for Bindi. Having attended several months of obedience classes with Bindi, I have some basic tools for training. I would be thrilled to help affirm the behaviors you've been working on with your pet while you're away. SPECIAL SKILLS: Outside of my love for pets, I have a passion for photography and often photograph my family dog during our adventures! If I watch your furry friend, there's a chance you'll also receive some sweet, pro-quality candids of your pup!
