Pet care experience
Hi! I’m Abby, and I’d love to take care of your dogs! I grew up in the Pittsburgh suburbs and have always been in a home full of animals. At one point, I had 5 dogs, 5 cats, 2 rabbits, and 2 mice. I have years of experience in caring for domestic animals and will provide all of them with love! Additionally, I am a trained zookeeper as I worked at the National Aviary and Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium. I have a knack for animal behavior. I have experience with over 150 different species of exotic animals, so I can handle any dog (or cat) with practiced ease no matter how big or small. I can follow your specific directions to a t, and I am more than happy to make additional accommodations for the well-being of your animal. Back home in Pittsburgh, I have 2 dogs named Dillon and Arrow. Arrow is an energetic labrador retriever mix who loves to go on runs. Dillon is a senior golden retriever who was rescued from an abusive home and now loves to cuddle. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me, and I can’t wait to meet your pet!

I would highly recommend Abby to keep your pet company while you’re away. She’s watched my dog Easton twice now and each time I knew he was being well taken care of. Abby would send great updates and pictures after each visit and followed Easton’s care instructions closely!
Abby did such a wonderful job taking care of my dog Easton while we were away for the long weekend. We haven’t left Easton since he had surgery for skin cancer, and even though he was fully recovered I still felt extra anxious leaving him. Abby sent updates every visit with tons of pictures and videos. Easton was clearly happy and enjoying himself! I would absolutely book Abby again!

A typical day
When it’s not crazy tourist season, I love to take dogs on walks around the National Mall - a quick 10 minute walk from my home! When the weather is warmer and the streets are fuller, I like to walk in neighborhoods such as Georgetown or take a trip to some of the local parks like a Bundy Dog Park. For overnight stays, I can bring some of the dog’s toys to play with. Each dog is different, so I don’t want to overexert older dogs or not run younger dogs enough.
