My husband and I moved to NJ from Indiana along with our two Australian Shepherd fur-babes, Odie and Marty Mae, and I wanted to ensure their transition from rural to suburban life was a pleasant one. Instead of looking for a teaching position, I decided to go back to school (online grad school) and spend my time taking care of our dogs and any others as if they were my own. In a normal week, we go on long walks (3.5mi or more) about every other day, and throw a tennis ball for a good while in the backyard because the mantra at our house is that a tired dog is a good dog. Our Marty Mae has a few health issues like allergies and (severe) motion sickness, while Odie deals with anxiety in new situations, which means I'm comfortable around high-needs dogs. In August, I took on caring for a senior dog who was recently diagnosed with diabetes. I take care of him during the day while his owner works, making sure he is walked and watered, and sometimes if needed I will also feed and administer medications. Due to our limited living space, I'd prefer to take care of your pet in their home, so I promise to take care of them as if they were one of my own little fur-babes! Dog care is very close to my heart because it gives me great peace of mind to know my fur-babes are well-taken care of while we are away and it is my priority to provide your family with the same kind of peace of mind!
