Your pet, my priority.
Pet care experience
Welcome! I am a full time Rover.com sitter and I would love to meet you and your pet! **Not accepting new clients at this time** Over the years I’ve dealt with all types of situations. From calming down territorial dogs, administering oral medication several times on a schedule, bathing large and small dogs, diaper and pee pad replacing, flea prevention applications, wound care for dogs, dogs and cats with strict dietary restrictions, playing with dogs and cats of all types and personalities, assisted a dog give birth to her 6 healthy puppies, worked with dogs while in heat, as well as sick dogs who had digestive issues. I may not be you, the owner. But I’ll be able to give your furry family member a comfortable and safe environment while you’re away. I cherish each pet as if they were my own, being sure to take time to get to know their personalities and quirks that make them so special to you. -Giant Breeds Looking for a sitter you can trust to have hold of your 150 lb pup on their walk? I specialize in giant breeds and have worked with many through this platform. From Great Danes, Newfoundlands, St. Bernards, Alaskan Malamutes, Great Pyrenees to Giant Schnauzers. As long as your big pup doesn't have an aggressive history towards humans I would love to meet and care for your big special family member! -Cat Care I love all of my cat clients and it would be an absolute joy for me to take care of yours! Whether it be cleaning their litter box, feeding them under specific care instructions, or just playing with them to get their crazy cat energy out! We have three cats and have raised each of them since they were kittens, naturally they all have unique personalities and I’ve learned how to accommodate even the most fearful cats I’ve met. -Cancellation Fees I do not charge cancellation fees, no questions asked. -Travel Fees Need someone to pick up Fido from the groomers? Maybe take Fido to get their nails clipped during our visit? Pick them up from doggie day care? I have transported many animals over the years and know how to keep them comfortable and safe. All dogs are secured with seatbelt leashes provided by me. I charge a flat $10 fee to transport them anywhere in the area (this fee is additional to my regular care rate). -Holidays Rover recognizes each bank holiday and automatically adds the holiday rate to the booking when you send the request to me. However, I only charge holiday rates for New Years Eve (only in the evening hours), Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. So when you send a request to me over any holiday I will modify the rate to reflect my regular pricing unless it’s on a holiday mentioned above. -Entry into your home You have a few options and I accept all methods of gaining access to your dog and/or cat. I have a designated key system for my Rover clients to keep them separate and organized. I can either take a key, garage code, door code, or even just let me know what door you have unlocked for our stay. I am 100% comfortable with any in house/outside security cameras you may have.
Reviews
Abby is a great sitter, truly loves what she does, takes great care of my dude, gives me extremely detailed updates on her time with him and sends me beautiful photos. Sadly she is moving from my area and I’m certain I will have a difficult time finding someone as great as she is, if you need your pet looked after I highly recommend her, she will truly be missed
We can always count on Abby!
Even last minute, Abby is still the best.
Always great communication and photos from Abby, I know my guy is in good loving hands when she watches him

I always do my best to give you much more than just a quick walk or drop in and 99% of the time I stay for about 45 minutes or longer because I find it important to give each pet more enrichment than the 30 minutes provides unless you explicitly have other instructions for your pet and want shorter visits. Otherwise, I provide at least a full 30 minutes of play and outside time and about 15 minutes for food, treats, some time to wind down from play before they are put back in their crate, or just some high quality belly rubs, whatever is in your pups best interest!
Information Abby T. would like to know about your pet
-I do not take dogs with an aggressive history towards humans. -During a walk does your pup have certain triggers that I should know about? Squirrels? Other reactive dogs? People? Cars? I like to keep them away and stay alert during our walks to prevent situations that may cause anxiety and stress for your pet. -Is your pet comfortable around strangers and new dogs? -What comforts your dog when they’re stressed? Please let me know if your pet has/had any dietary concerns, aggression concerns, or what scares your pet. That way I can keep your pet away from any situations that make them uncomfortable, or specific fears. -New to Rover? Use my code “ABBYT14638” for $20 off your very first booking on Rover.com! -Photos taken of any pet clients in my care may be shared on social media platforms (Including Rover.com) unless you specify otherwise when accepting the booking. Check out my business Instagram @candids.by.abby to follow along with my current pets! -Pricing is non negotiable and each pet I’m looking after needs their own profile set up on Rover.
A typical day
Your pet is my #1 priority when they’re in my care. Doing and seeing things that are familiar is best when they’re away from you. If you’d like us to stay around your home during a drop in or walk then we will do it. If you want your dog to go to either the Quincy dog park, or the Park Township dog park I am happy to take them there. I’m willing to accommodate you, and your pet so they remain comfortable and stress free while you’re away. For senior or special needs animals I take it at their pace and pay close attention to their energy levels so I don’t over exert them during my visit. If they just want belly rubs for 15 minutes, they’ll get their belly rubs! Let me know what your pet likes to do and see and I’ll accommodate them!
