Pet care experience
Since I was 11, I was taking care of a cat of my own. After spending years surrounded by my family’s dogs, I was finally able to convince my dad to get a dog of our own. We’ve had a dog in the house for the past 8 years. I love spending time with them and being at college and so far away makes me miss them which brought me to this site. We have always taken training very seriously with dogs so I am very good at training new tricks and enforcing rules. I even taught my Aussie a little bit of agility in my spare time. I’m used to being around dogs of all sizes and no dog is too big. Additionally, nothing makes me happier than a doggie photoshoot. If they are doing something cute, you will see it.

Abby was delightful and took great care of our cat. She met us at our house twice for a meet/greet and “orientation” before we left on vacation. The house was in fine order when we returned and the cat was in fine spirits and good health (she had to dispense meds for him) despite our having been away. I would definitely call on her again if we needed pet coverage!
Abby did a great job taking care of our 3 cats and lizard while we were away on vacation. She provided details of each drop-in visit and sent pictures as well. We'll be sure to use her again and recommend that you use her too!
As Abby’s mom, I can say firsthand that Abby is wonderful pet caregiver. She has had many pets since she was very young and has always formed a strong bond with them. When we had our first dog and went to training, Abby was the one that the dog listened to best even though she was only 12 at the time. Our dogs and cats are always thrilled to see her when she comes home from school for a visit. I would be happy to entrust any of my furbabies with her as she treats all animals as if they were her own.

I currently cannot house dogs in my own house. For my dogs at home, they are used to to an electric fence and walks every day. Also, they frequently make trips to the dog park for some socialization with other dogs

Before sitting a dog, I would like to know any rules or training that you are currently working on with the dog. For example, is there a side your dog is supposed to walk on and how are they supposed to keep pace with you. If you are in the middle of training, I would like to know what you are working on so we keep keep your doggie moving forward in their training.
A typical day
I love walking dogs and am located close to Mill River Recreation Center and all the trails in that area. If your dog loves the water, there are places where the your puppy can go for a swim. I am also a fan of hikes and have looked forward to exploring the mountains of the valley and there is no better company than a dog.

I’m currently living out in Amherst and have a very flexible schedule to work with throughout the summer. I am up as early at 6am.
