Ever since my first dog-sitting exerience on behalf of a neighbor at 9 years old, I've been passionate about dogs. Shortly after, I pleaded with my parents to adopt one into our family, a lively and loving German Shepherd/beagle mix named Rocky. As soon as I got my driver's license, I appied to every pet store in the area, eventually accepting a job at PetSmart, where I volunteered to host canine education sessions for dog owners on weekends. A few years ago, I agreed to help a friend who works the night shift care for his mini dachschund, Olivia, while he worked. She had severe separation anxiety issues, and his neighbors had started voicing complaints -- he was now facing the fact that he might have to give away his best friend of 12 years, four cities and two cross-country moves. Since my schedule didn't allow me to be there every night, we put our heads together and patiently tried a variety of toys and behavioral training methods. We were thrilled to find one that worked, which was incredibly rewarding. Since then, I am the go-to dog-sitter for my family members and friends. I have experience with dogs ranging from 5 pounds to more than 110, experience administering medications -- and I might love walks even more than they do!
