Outgoing, passionate animal lover

Pet care experience

I've cared for pets since I was a child. When people describe me, one of the first things they mention is my love for animals and the dedication I have to their care. My husband and I configure our lives around our 2 dogs and 4 rabbits. Without question, their needs come before my own because they depend on my care and love. I have extensive experience caring for dogs, cats, rabbits, rodents (mice, rats, hamsters), fish, and chickens. Every animal is unique and I tailor their care to their individual needs, interests, and concerns. When it comes to animals, there is nothing more important to me than their health, safety, and happiness. I have plenty of experience administering medication to dogs, cats, and rabbits. Please let me know any accommodations your pet needs and I will make sure I dedicate time and research to understanding their needs. I have years of firsthand experience working with dogs who are reactive, nervous, or excited when on-leash. All that matters to me is that your dog feels happy, safe, and gets some fresh air. So if this means that we need to take plenty of breaks and stick to a quieter route, we will certainly do that!

Very pleased with our experience and especially with our dog's care with Abby. We were informed daily with script and pictures of Mollys activity and care. Made it very comforting to know the great time she was having, and we could enjoy our trip without worrying about leaving her (Molly) in someone else's care. I give the highest possible recommendation for Abby, and if needed would certainly use her services again.

Abby was fabulous. She set up meet and greets with my pup and my dog immediately fell in love with her. She was very responsive, great with communication and giving me updates throughout my dog’s stay with her, took my pup on lots of adventures, and gave her lots of love and attention while I was away. I will definitely be using Abby again and highly recommend her.

Our experience with Abby was incredible from start to finish. She set up an initial meet and greet to assess our dog, then another to meet with him in a mixed dog setting, spending time to get to know him and observe his behavior and his level of training, as well as interact with him so she could see how he responded to people outside of us (his owners). His stay with her was wonderful—he was content, well exercised, happy, and we were given ample updates on his daily activities. When an incident requiring a trip to the vet occurred, Abby kept us informed minute by minute of what was going on and was very vigilant with our dog’s post vet care. She is a true gem in the dog sitting world and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her for your next pet sitting needs.

Safety, trust & environment

For All Pets: I will carry out whatever routines you have for your pet. This includes feeding, medication administration, exercise, enrichment, play, training, and grooming. My Home: I live on a quiet, dead-end road, which is perfect for walking the dogs! I also have a non-enclosed backyard and access to woodland trails, which my dogs love! Dogs: I also enjoy using my State Park Pass to bring my dogs to nearby dog-friendly state parks like Wolfe's Neck and Sebago Lake State Park if this is something you would be interested in me doing with your dogs as well! The natural joy and wonder dogs experience in nature-filled places like this is absolutely contagious! Dogs (Your Home): I will carry out your dog's typical routine, so that the only thing they need to focus on is their excitement for your return home! I will walk with them on their normal route or drive to nearby parks they may enjoy. I will apply my years of experience in leash training and identifying key dog behaviors to our walks! I will allow your dog to indicate their comfort level and readiness for various walking routes. Cats (My Home): If your cat is comfortable around dogs, I can definitely accommodate their stay in my home! I have taken care of cats in my home before and absolutely love it! I typically will designate the lowest level entirely to the cats! There are benches underneath every window, so they can enjoy seeing what's going on outside! When I go to work, I will close the door to this space, turn on some classical music, and allow your cat to have privacy from my dogs, who enjoy relaxing upstairs anyway! Cats (Your Home): I will carry out whatever routines your cat is used to! When caring for cats, I make sure they trust me and feel comfortable before engaging in play. Once we've established trust, I devote time to play! Bunnies (Your Home): I am very knowledgable in bunny care and common character traits. I free roam my own bunnies at home, and therefore, I have extensive experience in bunny proofing, safety supervision, safe toys to play with, safe treats to give, etc. Please contact me with any questions you may have! I love sharing helpful advice, information, and resources.

A typical day

I enjoy allowing the interests and needs of the individual dog determine our plan for the day! For example, if your dog loves to go on routine walks, we can stick to walking in their neighborhood. However, I also enjoy bringing dogs to new places for those who like to explore! I use my State Park Pass to visit dog-friendly state parks like Two Lights, Wolfe's Neck, and other parks like Fort Williams. I will walk in the snow, rain, or sunshine as long as it's safe and enjoyable to the dog! I also enjoy various introducing various enrichment activities that may appeal to your dog!
