Reliable and caring sitter/walker!

Pet care experience

Just like you all, I love dogs. I’ve spent my entire life with a canine friend (or 3!) and firmly believe all dogs should be treated like king and queen. I love spending my time with dogs, and it would be an honor to get to know and take care of your own dogs! Due to my time with dogs, I’m comfortable in administering shots to your dogs. I have a diabetic dog, so I’m absolutely okay with helping out with your dog's medical conditions. I have experience with blindness, ear infections, diabetes and so on. On top of living and caring for my dogs on a daily basis, I adore dogs. I firmly believe they are some of the best friends we humans can have. Because of this, I will go above and beyond in caring for your dogs. It’s my mission to make your dog smile, wag their tail and wiggle their butt. This isn’t just a job to me - this is an opportunity to spread happiness and love. I hope you consider me to be the friend of your dog! It would be an honor to help you. “Everyone thinks they have the best dog, and none of them is wrong.”

Abby was a great communicator and always kept us updated. She sent plenty of pics and seemed to really enjoy her time with our animals. I could tell they were well-loved. Couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and we look forward to hiring her again. :)

Abby did an amazing job watching my dogs. Tayla, Riley and Scarlett loved having her in the house cuddling and walking them. She watched them for the weekend and you would never have none that we were gone. I don’t think they missed us at all. We definitely will use her again n the future.

Safety, trust & environment

I always ensure there are no doors open or any windows open when arriving at your house. If I unlock the door, I lock it after I leave or set out to walk your dog. While I walk your dog, I keep the pup close and keep an eye out for any hazards, such as cars or aggressive pets. If I am house-sitting/dog-sitting, I make sure the dog(s) does not get into any trash or dangerous objects and that they are behaving. If they are misbehaving, I firmly believe in gentle correction, such as saying, "No" and dissuading the negative behavior(s).

Information Abby J. would like to know about your pet

First of all, just tell me about your pup! I love to hear about people's dogs - their personality, funny stories, and so on! By hearing about your dog, I can get to know them and befriend them much quicker/easier! Second of all, just let me know if your dog has an medical conditions, anxiety, or any other concerns. I can administer shots, oral medication, and help your dog be comfortable. Knowing what kind of dog you have is a plus, but I have no breed preferences! I love all dogs.

A typical day

When going on walks, I will first walk your dogs on sidewalks or even nature trails nearby. If there are local parks, I will also bring your pup there! Parks are great places for dogs to visit due to the abundance of smells and opportunities for fun. Dogs love running in open spaces, and I would love to run with them! I will also provide an abundance of pets and ear scratches. If you want, I can play fetch, tug of war, and so on! If your dog is more laid back, that's fine by me! I'm always happy to hang out with your pup, pet them, cuddle with them, etc... I have a lab so I know all about energy while my older dog just likes to hang out and chill. I'm more than happy with both!

Availability

I am currently unemployed but return to college at the end of August. Until then, I have pretty open availability! I am completely free unless I have prior plans, which I will convey to you and we can work around. When it comes to dog sitting, I am unable to stay overnight as I have medication to take and requirements at home. However, I can leave late and come back early that next morning. Once college starts on August 30th, I will only be available after 1pm on Friday and the weekend. This may change as I understand my workload.
