Hello! Future dogtor here! I’m a third year at the Dick Vet, and am hoping to get some time with happy and healthy animals caring for your pup! Friends call me a human golden retriever, and I can bring that energy, loyalty, and gentleness to caring for your dog. Because I've worked with cattle, no dog is too stinky, or too large (unless it's bigger than a cow). And, I have a special place in my heart for both puppies and elderly dogs. My clinical experience (2 years as an assistant, and 1 as a vet nurse, 2 years of school) makes me an ideal candidate for these and any other dogs who may have special needs. I've also worked at doggy daycare, and know how to work with large packs while making sure everyone has fun. I’ve sat and passed my dog handling and care exams at school as well, and am refining my ability to ‘speak dog’. Young or old, sick or well, nervous or excited, I've seen and loved it all. Looking forward to meeting your doggos! Cats: I absolutely adore cats, and have two back home! I’ve taken Fear Free classes, and know how to give our feline friends the respect and care they need. I understand that cats are not just small dogs, and require a certain touch. I hope I can provide a warm lap, play time, and lots of scritches for your feline friend. My schooling is mostly online this year, so your pet may get to learn something about their own care while I watch lectures while sitting. Because of virtual teaching, my schedule is quite flexible, and I can fit in my work around walks and play time. As a former vet nurse, I know all sorts of ways pets can get themselves into trouble- sometimes including risks owners themselves haven’t even noticed. I may be a bit of a helicopter sitter, but I’m sure your pet will appreciate the attention, and you can have peace of mind.
