Abbie was great. She was very quick to respond to a last minute request, met with me the same day, and text me updates and pictures while watching my pups. I felt like they were in great care when I left and I would definitely ask her to watch my dogs again.

Abbie was wonderful! First time using Rover and she is definitely a sitter I would use again. Followed and did everything I asked, including administering medication. Always a prompt response and kept us up to date.

Our dog Frances stayed with Abigail over a long weekend. Abigail updated me regularly with photos and their activities, and assured me that Fran was doing well. I could tell right away that Abigail was a dog loger and knew that Fran would get the care, exercise, and attention she needed. I picked up Fran in the evening after returning from our trip and Abigail had already fed her and provided her meds. Fran was ...

Giving your dog their own vacation

There’s just nothing like the companionship and love a dog brings into our lives! Dogs are so wonderful and important to us, so I’ve always considered it a priority of mine to give back to them whenever possible. Unfortunately, I’m not able to have a dog of my own right now, but that means that I have a ton of love to give to pooches that I sit! That’s why being ...

What Abbie would like to know about your dog

Some things I like to learn ahead of time:

- Would you like to schedule a meet-and-greet before the stay?
- What’s your preferred method of communication?
- Does your pup have any health issues that need to be tended to? For instance, dietary restrictions, medicine, or behavior triggers?
- Do you have a vet nearby that you trust?
- Is your dog spayed/neutered?
- Does your pup like to stick to a given schedule, like regular walks in the morning and evening?
- What does your pup do well around? What does your pup try to avoid?
- What’s the best way to spoil your pup?

When Abbie watches your pet

I live in a neighborhood called Dinkytown. It’s a college town, and I love it a lot. I have roommates who all absolutely love dogs so your pup will get a lot of loving from everyone. I love how close my neighborhood is to local restaurants and parks. I do not have much of a backyard, but do have a park very close by that has lots of room to play.

College has made me an early riser so I am up and about around 8 AM so I will be able to take your dog out for their first walk/potty break around this time. I am also looking to run more this summer which may mean taking your favorite pal with me if they are a good on a leash. Then it will be breakfast time for everyone! If multiple dogs are over, I will separate them into different areas so there are no territorial issues with food. Depending on outdoor weather, I will take your dog to a park that is a few blocks from my house and perfect for releasing all that energy. Other options may be the Stone Arch Bridge area or Lake Calhoun. This will be up to the owner if they are okay with me taking their dog in the car with me. I will not be doing this until I get a seat belt for dogs. Cold or rainy weather means playing games inside and possibly teaching/reinforcing new tricks. I’m always happy to stick to the schedule that your pup is used to at home to avoid anxiety or nervousness as well, but the world will really be our oyster!
