Expert dog and cat lover

Pet care experience

I’ve grown up with dogs always being around, and have loved every minute of it. I have experience with any size breed from extra-small to extra-large, and therefore have learned the best way to make any doggo happy. I can keep to any schedule a dog has, including administering required medications at the appropriate times, and have much experience doing so. Most commonly I’ve dog-sat for a family of 4 dogs at once, and all have needed their medications at different times. Additionally, I love to be outside and go for several walks a day, and to spend time relaxing when I can. I’ll take the time to let dogs get their smells in, and when they’re ready to be done will happily cuddle and entertain them inside.

Safety, trust & environment

I care for others pets as I would want my own treated, with compassion and care. I love to interact with animals and make sure they’re getting g the time, attention, exercise, food, and medication they need, and also understand the importance of routines and boundary endorment in animals. Both are in place for a reason, and I know that my own routines and boundaries do not apply to every dog, so I’m very conscious of making sure I adopt the dogs routines and enforce the boundaries you tell me they need. After all, giving each individual dog what they need is the most important thing there is.

Information Abbie C. would like to know about your pet

Before sitting a dog, I would like to know what their normal behavior is (playful, relaxed, vocal, mouthy), any medications they may need, how often they need potty breaks, what to expect manners wise (I’m totally okay if we’re still working on them, just let me know ahead of time please!), their favorite toys and activities, and any big no-no’s for them or mom/dad.

A typical day

When a dog stays with me, they can look forward to a day of playing, walks (or running if that’s their thing!) and of course lots of belly rubs! I will walk the dog around their home, or if they want we can go to a park and they can let loose! It’s kften been said that dogs have me trained well, because I jump at their needs faster than the best listener can respond to ‘sit’. I love to play both inside and outside with them, and will groom and pup that needs it. I love giving them belly rubs, and nothing beats doggie cuddles! Their water bowls will never ever be empty, and breakfast/dinner will never come a minute late. I am eager to accommodate most any extra need a dog may have!

I’m currently a student finishing up my last semester at Alma College, and have a flexible schedule this semester. I have morning classes that are done by mid to late morning, and a night class one day a week, which gives me plenty of free time to hang out and tend to dogs and cats. When caring for a pet (I clouding my own 9 year old golden retriever) I make sure they have ate, had any medicines they need, and gone potty before I leave in the morning, and if they’re up for it I make sure they get a walk, or at least some outside time in too. When I let them out to potty and give pets first thing, then gauge the pups mood to see if they’d rather go for a walk, relax and get some pets, or play I side or outside.
