Pet care experience
***As of Jan 2022 I am rarely active on Rover. Please consider other sitters if you are booking with less than a week's notice.*** I’ve been taking care of cats since childhood. I have 10+ years of experience with shy/temperamental cats and I have a great understanding of their body language. I am happy to give them the attention or space that they need, depending on their personalities. I am proud of my ability to win the affection of shy cats who need time and space to get used to me until they feel safe approaching me on their own terms.
Reviews
Thanks Abbey!!!
Abbey took care of my cat while I was away for a week. I was a little disappointed as communication was delayed a couple of times and her visit times each day were not regular though I’d requested this and she was responsible for feeding my girl her wet food. I appreciate that she spent a good amount of time with her most days, but would recommend setting clear expectations upfront to make sure care aligns with what you’re hoping for.
Abbey is great!!! I never worry about my cats when she's looking after them
Abbey has been our primary cat-sitter for many months now and we're so happy to have her. We've had her house-sit overnight and do drop-in visits, depending on how long we're away. Most recently, she did three drop-in visits of our two cats after Thanksgiving, She sent photos regularly, and the cats were happy and sleepy when we returned so we know they were well cared-for. We're glad to have found someone on Rover who has experience with cats (as that's not always the case). We'll definitely be booking her again.

I do not provide services from my home. I have my own cat who does not get along well with other cats. I am happy to visit your cat in your home. I will clean up any messes I find and I love to hang out and keep cats company if they are lonely.
Information Abbey T. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know how flexible your pet's schedule is. Because I am a full time grad student, my schedule can be somewhat unpredictable so I usually can't commit to visiting at an exact time each day. But I will give your pet as much time and attention as they need and stay beyond the 30/60 mins if necessary. If I have access to wifi at your home then I will gladly do my online classes and schoolwork at your home for extra snuggle time.
A typical day
I have experience with many different pet personalities and will adjust my care accordingly. If your cat is shy, I will give her time to get used to me and will not try to grab her or otherwise invade her space. Usually after a few days shy cats will approach me for attention if they want it. If your cat is social and affectionate, I will give him as much cuddle and play time as he needs. I love combing cats while we snuggle, or playing with a string toy to help them get their energy out.
