Pet care experience
I am a current veterinary student at K-State and I am a former veterinary assistant with lots of experience caring for dogs and cats and I am capable of caring for special needs animals (SQ fluids, insulin injections, special walking instructions, etc). I previously worked at a large and small animal clinic in Montana, and I have worked as an exotic animal veterinary assistant so I’m happy to take care of birds, reptiles, etc as well. I am also a Montana State University graduate with a degree in Conservation Biology and Ecology--if your pets love to get out and hike that can certainly be arranged! I've had big dogs my whole life, Mastiffs and American Bulldogs, but I love small dogs as well. I also have experience caring for birds, specifically macaws and cockatiels, so if you have feathered friends that is not a problem. I’ve been working in animal care as a job for the past 7 years and it’s a huge passion of mine that I am excited to continue!
Reviews
Abbey was wonderful with my two dogs who both have medical issues. We were out of town for 2 days and when we returned, both dogs were relaxed and happy.
Abbey is wonderful. She was very patient with our Nala who is hesitant when meeting new people. We can’t wait to have her stay with our dog next time we are out of town.
Abbey was awesome! I really appreciate how much she love animals in general and how she gave my pup great care while I was at work. I would be honored to have Abbey help out again!
Abbey is fantastic. We went away on vacation and I always stress about leaving the pups behind. Abbey was very professional throughout the entire stay and our pups looked so happy when we got back. I would absolutely have Abbey watch our pups again! Probably the best pup sitter we've dealt with!

Information Abbey K. would like to know about your pet
One thing I've learned from working in a veterinary clinic is that dogs can act very different when they are under stress, so we don't judge a dog if it acts aggressive--instead, we do our best to work with the owner and their pet to find a solution that makes their pet more comfortable. If there is a history of aggression towards people or other pets, it's something that we should talk about and find a solution such as meeting the dog (or cat) a time or two before you head out of town.
A typical day
I'm a big fan of hiking so if your pets enjoy getting out of the neighborhood I’m more than happy to go on a little hike with them. Walks around the neighborhood are great too!
