About Flash

He is crazy! He loves to nest and cover himself with his blankets. He also likes to bark now and then, but if you happen to make him bark, he will do it from the comforts of his nesting hole. I can just see it now, a robber comes and hears him barking but doesn't see anything, he wouldn't know what to do. lol, Also he is a self-petting dog as well. You put your hand down he will muzzle right under and toss his head up to bring the hand down and pet him, or put his muzzle into your hand. You see him sticking his tongue out, it hangs out naturally because he doesn't have any teeth, but that doesn't stop him from stealing the bone from his sister. He is also very smart, when new people come over, he gets right up next to them and tries to jump up, and then looks over at them and kinda whimpers a bit. Then they look down and go aww, and help him up. I laugh every time, because he shows them, later he will jump easily or run and jump up onto the chair. lol Flash, his full name is Jumping Jack Flash, I believe his litter was on the J's and it was something special, I am not really sure. He is AKC and all that crazy stuff, but for me, he is my little man! So with Flash, he is what you would call a Tiger Brindle, smooth haired Dachshund meaning that if he were to breed, you would basically get a surprise. Meaning with him he could get the normal ones-black, cream, red, tan, but then you could get the more exotic ones, like a real tiger, and others. So basically you really would be surprised at what came out.

About Piper

She thinks that everyone who comes over, they are only here to see her. She has to be the center of attention until she gets it, then she is done with it. She loves her toys, and if it makes a noise even better, but don't it expect to be around long, well any toy really, because she will just destroy it. I have woken or come home to a dusting of white stuffing, and know she found a stuffed toy. I have yet, to find a toy that she can't destroy. She does love her bottles, I mean any bottle, you open a soda or drink, she is right there waiting for a chance to drink outa it. She will stick her tongue in and lap up every drop if you let her, and then just screw the lid on tight, and toss it. One of her favorite toys, and will keep at till the lid is off. I have since learned, that she knows where the treats were kept and if left open a bit, would nose it open and help herself. Just like her older sister was, she knows how to turn the blame around and make it look like her brother did it. Piper is a smooth haired double dapple Dachshund. meaning two dominant genes are present, so both Sire(father) and Dam(mother) have the same dominant genes. You can tell because one eye is blue the other brown. If you look at pictures 6 and 7, you would swear they were from the same litter, or somehow related, but they neither.

About Sable (in memory)

Sable, was a great dog, but she had her moments. She just hated change, I mean she would get over it but she hated it. One time, in particular, we had to keep her and Piper in for awhile, we were working out back building a step from the porch down to the ground, making it easier for mom to get down. Well, the kids had to go to the bathroom, and wouldn't let them out just yet, and finally, we were like alright now come on outside. well, Piper ran out and jumped off, no big deal. well, Sable comes running and as she gets close to the edge, she just slammed on her brakes and stopped, looked down at the step back up to us and just let out a whimper kinda like a sigh. we just laughed, and finally had to push over to step down. Another time, Sable was downstairs sleeping with mom and Piper was upstairs with me, well Sable wanted to get up and do something, but she didn't want to be the one to wake mom up, They never really learned that when they move and wake up, we do as well, but still. So Sable gets down off the bed and comes upstairs climbs the ladder to my bed, wakes Piper up to go downstairs and wake mom up. It was so funny, Sable just got back into bed, and acted as if asleep, Piper comes up and wakes mom and Sable up. We just laughed. We lost her 08/04/2011 due to actions out of our control. Sable was really good at letting you know what she wanted, like in that picture of her in bed, yes she actually crawled under the blanket and came with her head on the pillow, all ready for bed. If you weren't and she was, she would actually bark this kinda soft rumble bark, it's like, "hello, can't see I'm trying to sleep" Sable was a Wirehaired double dapple, meaning two dominant genes are present, so both Sire(father) and Dam(mother) have the same dominant genes. You can tell because one eye is blue the other brown. If you look at the second and third picture of her and Piper, you would swear they were from the same litter, but they were not. Or they were related somehow, but again they were not.
