I take the time to get to know a dog, and make sure that my visits are more than feed/let out for bathroom/walk. I like to spend a little extra time playing with a dog and bonding with them to make sure they still feel safe and cared for while their owners are away. I've been taking of my friends’ / neighbors’ dogs for roughly 7 years now, on and off. I’ve dealt with giving medication, young and old dogs, as well as timid and energetic. I make a concerted effort to feel like a friend and not a stranger. I’ve always loved how loving dogs can be, and I enjoy getting to share that love. Never having had a dog of my own, getting to care for others makes me feel happy.
