“Poppy had such a great time here on Christmas Day! Avi was awesome and took such good care of her. She was the only small dog there that day, and there were 4 other bigger dogs but they were all so friendly and Avi was very attentive and careful with gradually introducing Poppy to them. You could easily tell that Avi loves dogs with how he interacts and talks about the dogs that were there that day. He also sent us videos of Poppy having so much fun. So much so that she was so tired even until the next day! I would never hesitate to have them care for Poppy again in the future! I highly recommend!”

“You know how some people get along with animals better than they do with people? Those people who have bumper stickers that say, "I love my dog", or...even better, "I love my dog, it's people I'm not so sure about"? Basically, the kind of animal lover who truly believes that animals are essentially better people than people? Tom Zuback isn't one of them. If he had a bumper sticker, it would say "I love my dog, but don't worry, I could learn to like you, too." Tommy is a lover. For the purposes of Rover.com, I'm going to focus on his love of dogs. When my dog died, he checked on me several days a week for several more weeks than was required as a friend. And in speaking with him, he would ask what I missed most. He understands the relationship between people and their dogs. He was a City slicker for many years, but he did not allow that to impede his ability to be a dog lover. While his apartment would not let him keep a dog there, he was a steadfast sitter to his friends' dogs, especially to labradoodles Trevor and Spencer - for over 15 years! I've known Tommy since we were 7 years old. When I met him, and for what seemed like our entire childhood, he had Suzette. Suzette was a French poodle, and Suzette was also the friendliest poodle ever met - then and 50 years later! No doubt, Suzette was loved, and she couldn't help but be kind to others because of the love she felt at home. Never did I think twice about leaving my dogs in the care of Tommy. He's the kind of person who hears about a dog who attacked someone and whose first thought is "what was that dog going through? What happened to that dog?" - his last thought is "that dog is bad". By profession, Tommy is a photographer. While he has had the opportunity to photograph celebrities and People magazine-worthy moments, and more than once been at the right place at the right time to catch the star of the moment, if you asked him about his favorite photo gig, he'd tell you that it's the one with the dogs. I don't know the name of it, actually. How funny is that! He's been doing it for years, and it's not about the status of the event or the opportunity it presents in Tommy's mind/career. It's a fundraiser for dogs, and each year when he is called upon to be its photographer, I know I am going to get a bunch of photos with the photographer being loved by, or loving, a dog. As I write this, I'm not entirely sure who takes those photos, but all I know is that Tommy is in his element. (Side note: he must do a fantastic job photographing this dog promoting event, as he's asked back year after year.) I have zero reservations about Tommy being a friend to any dog, and I have all the confidence in the world to recommend him as a pet walker/sitter/lover. I may trust him more with a dog than with my mother. Just kidding, but hopefully you get the idea. He loves, fur or no fur, but fur is a plus. “Joanna is great. She asked the right questions and was very responsive whenever I asked her one. She kept sending pictures and videos during the stay. Our dog, Luna, liked her and went back to her even after I was there to pick her up. It gives you such a peace of mind when you know someone as caring is watching your pet. We plan to use her again.”

We choose Kiana because she is near and she has good reviews but she has done an amazing job and not just that but she also got Lily socialized with other dogs which is the first time for her. Kiana kept sending messages and pictures to let us know how Lily is doing throughout the day and we felt that Lily is staying with us. “Karen has watched my pets for over 10 years! When I had 3 cats, she would send updates about each, texting pictures and meal updates. My cats have always loved her, and she makes sure to include lots of cuddle time for each and gives them individual attention! I lived in a house with my animals and a roommate's dog, and Karen didn't bat an eye at the added charge of caring for all the animals at once. She cleaned up after them to the point of sweeping litter and when I arrived back from vacations, my home was always spotlessly clean and cozy. She has a way of making both people and pets feel instantly comfortable and she's definitely never met an animal that was a stranger! My pets, who have always been somewhat finicky, never acted stressed out upon my return as they had when other people had watched them. While she keeps everything tidy and cozy in the house, my favorite thing she's always done is texting adorable and hilarious pictures of my animals that show that she appreciates their individual personalities! I would (and have!) recommended Karen to anyone who wants their fur babies to be cared for the way they would themselves!”

About: My wife & I love dogs and great at taking care of them. We love our 4.5 year old Bruno, a lab / pointer mix breed. He is a very friendly dog, both with dogs and people. We work from home and have a flexible schedule. Will be able to devote attention to the dogs when they are with us. Bruno loves to play! We have a spacious home with a fenced back yard for the dogs to play (Weather permitting). Dogs are allowed to roam around in a safe and secluded area.

About: I'll treat your pup like they're my own, with care. I have a 8 year old scottish terrier whose separation anxiety is pretty severe. I work with her daily to ease her worries. She's very friendly and loves for a pal to be around to play with. I'm very flexible with times or any specific accommodations (such as medications, special food instructions, personality traits) you'll need for yourself and your pup. Whether it’s overnight dog sitting or just a walk, I will be dependable and thoughtful with my timeliness and attention to detail. Your pup will be happy to not be couped up inside all day and will barely notice you're not there with all the fun they'll be having! If you would like to board your pup at my apartment either for the day or overnight, please know that there is a dog park that is readily available for them to run around and play to get some energy out.
