My dogs like frozen stuff so I keep the frozen bags of carrots and green beans in the freezer... if you want to make frozen treats, combine plain greek yogurt with plain canned pumpkin, add a little honey, mix and put into muffin tins, pop out and put them in a freezer bag, you can make them however large or small you want. My boys love them! -S

Pieces of banana, Peeled apple slices (no seeds) and seedless watermelon. My dog LOVES all, as well as baby carrots!

Thanks Mary C. ! I'm going to try giving Sandy some apples slices:)

You're welcome! You may find out your dog's favorite apple (I'm still searching, but my dog prefers sweet apples over baking apples).

Baby carrots - nearly zero calories, low sugar content. Vegetable & Fruit nutritional facts can be reviewed at http://www.fda.gov/Food/IngredientsPa...

Thank you Deb A. :)

You're welcome. Like many others, my dog also enjoys a long list of fruits and veggies, including seedless/no skin/no seed: apples, pears, watermelon, cucumbers, bell (gas-inducing) peppers, bananas, green beans, snap peas, and sweet potatoes (which also provide a Great way to hide a pill).

I bet that you have one very healthy dog:)

Never feed them grapes or raisins. Can cause illness or death

Yes, Laura R also included that in her answer. Only a couple other answers posted the same date as mine, so I didn't repeat that warning, but I suppose for the love of dogs it's worth mentioning Again.

I give my dog mainly vegetables, both raw and cooked. I have a small container of cooked green beans pieces on hand for treats. Very low calorie. My dog will eat pretty much anything from broccoli to cucumber. We minimize the amount of fruits and vegetables with high sugar content, like sweet potatoes and carrots, because of his problems with yeast (the sugar feeds the yeast). He might get small bits of apple and banana occasionally. I used to dehydrate batches of sweet potato slices as treats, but no longer do. A number of the dogs who stay with me like the veggie snacks. One owner said that his dog wouldn't eat carrots, but I found the dog would if they were cooked a bit.

Thanks Karen R. !! I'm going to give Sandy more carrots and less store bought dog treats:) She will eat them raw.

Another good one is blueberries. They're full of anti-oxidants and very low calorie.

My girls love veggie scraps. They eat pretty much everything that would be destined for the compost. Their favorites are mushrooms (white/button/cremini/portobello/all the other names for this species are all fine) and brussel sprouts, but they also get pieces of bell pepper, carrot, asparagus, tomato, potato, sweet potato, apple, banana.. pretty much everything but grapes/raisins, garlic and onion.

If you want to make something they'll love that's super healthy, just cut sweet potato into thin slices, place on a banking tray coated with coconut oil, and bake on low heat until they're whatever consistency you like. Soft is nice, but crispier will keep longer.

I like to freeze tiny ice cubes (you can fill accordingly based on the size of your dog and what they can handle) with chicken or veggie stock. Then I place cut up fruit and veggies inside. My dog loves them and they are great to pop in the kong to keep them busy.

I too like to give my dog frozen carrots- great for their teeth and gums. She also gets bell peppers, cucumbers, cauliflower, and broccoli. My dog gets sooo excited when I'm cooking ;)
