How do I get a very exuberant dog to stop jumping on me when I come home?

Dog jumps on me constantly when I come in the door.

Easiest way is to put your knee up if it is a larger dog. your knee hits their chest and kind of stuns them, but it doesn't hurt. For smaller dogs do not talk to them or look at them walk in and just ignore them for a few minutes and put your pocketbook down, take your coat off etc. then sit down and call them over, they will probably be right next to you any way when you sit.

Say no jump. Turn away from him/her. Keep a knee up. Or pop them every time they jump up

Keep to one word commands and as he starts to jump pull knee up to chest to the left or right as to not seem as your kicking, but to gently block as you cross your arms in an x and say off firmly and assertive.

This article gives tips for a few different jumping situations and tips: http://www.humanesociety.org/animals/...

Just the part that specifically answers your Q (Jumps on you when you come in the door:) is: Keep greetings quiet and low-key. If your dog jumps on you, ignore him. Turn and go out the door. Try again. You may have to come in and go out dozens of times before your dog learns he only gets your attention when he keeps all four feet on the floor.

The best, most humane answer, is to completely ignore them. I know it's hard, but when you walk in the door just turn away, and don't acknowledge them. As soon as they are calm, you can acknowledge him and give him attention as long as he keeps all paws on the ground.
